Don't think it is anything to do with any of that, both Chris and Phil mentioned it was more to do with not having bad news around ST sales time when they have no manager in place and a sporting director handing his notice in. |

We've bought him. Signed, sealed...although not yet delivered.
But we can't have him until an incoming manager confirms/signs off the transfer.
But the incoming manager has no say in weather he keeps him or not as the deal is done.
So the incoming manager's confirmation of the deal is totally irrelevent.
Butw we can't have him until he gives it?

I agree and also what I don't understand if the deal is done then it's been registered with the EFL and therefore he's our player, so do one WBA. It might even encourage more ST sales at the Ipswich end
If it's not been registered with the EFL then as yet he isn't a Town player and the deal isn't done.
If there is a weird agreement between the two clubs not to announce it then you have to assume there is another deal somewhere in the offering ie Downs going to WBA and Town don't want to upset them as that may scupper that deal |  | | |
