So what do we still need from the transfer market? 18:50 - Aug 21 with 836 viewspointofblue

I personally think a right back, a defensive central midfielder and a goalkeeper. I doubt we'll go for all three though.

GK for me.

Not sure this new one is much of an improvement on Holy.

The goalkeeper is not an improvement.
The defence is worse.
Everyone has suddenly clocked that the double DM pairing ain't all that.

I don't think Cook should be given a further loosening of the purse strings until he's earned it. I truly hope he does earn it, but so far it's been a car crash.
Pretty lacy passes, yada yada. No wins from five. With the fixture list that we've had...

Think we need to make what we have work. We've already got a big squad and we've seen under Lambert that endlessly adding players doesn't equate to improvement. We have a couple of options at least for every position and the quality ought to be there. If Cook can't find a way to make this squad competetive then that's on him.

Could see their first goal happening. Our keeper was not in the middle of the goal hence when it came over the wall he was too far away to make a save.
Although he has the best distribution we've seen from one of our keepers for a long time.

Personally I don’t think we need anything else.

Defense is dodgy, but we haven’t played Edmundson yet. Midfield is all good - though they need to impose themselves on the game more than today, and strikers are fine.

We just need to get them playing. Buying new players won’t be the answer - it will be coaching these very good players to play together.

I’m not convinced on Hlakdy, and the two LBs don’t fill me with confidence. Coulson was caught out of position so many times today.

I’d like to see Jon Nolan shipped out and replaced with a proper defensive midfielder to give a bit of solidity rather than Evans and Harper who are too attacking / don’t sit enough to protect the back four.

You’re right about Coulson, but Penney did very well when he came on. Really shored up that side of the defense. I’m happy with those two.

Cook already seems confused by his squad, I don't think we need to exacerbate the problem.

KVY worries me, he doesn’t look half the player he was before the injury, and I think we need another option at right back for sure.

We will be fine with what we have and then have a look in Jan if needed imo.

Replace Woolfenden with Edmundson and we'll have the same issues - the defence is constantly exposed by a lack of protection in front of them. The more pressure a defence is under the more likely mistakes will be made.

Not that Evans was under much pressure when he messed up for their second, admittedly.
