Any plasterers in Ipswich on 17:00 - Oct 11 by textbackup | how bigs the room? sheet of plasterboard is 5-7 quid.... youd have them up in half a day one of you, 2 hours 2 of you. |
I dry lined an entire 3 bed house, every wall dob and dab and ceilings screwed and I am as useless as they come with DIY. Over boarding probably a 2 man job unless you have long arms or a tool to hold the boards up while you screw them. Had a few boards break over my head trying to do it on my own!!!

Any plasterers in Ipswich on 15:03 - Oct 11 by IP4_Blue | That's good to know i dont mind losing abit of height if it means it costs cheaper as need money to decorate whole house as well as new kitchen/ensuite |
That will be considerably more expensive as you'd have to get someone to board the ceiling - then it will be skimmed. to cover the palsterboard. It will give you a better finish though As well as the cost factor in the incovenience - the lplaster goes absolutel everywhere and takes days to dry. Really depends on how long you intend to be there - i wouldnt worry about asbestos - its most unlikely to be in there - and is embedded in the gunk - so if it is there. you can leave well alone in perfect safety or cover it up . Round here asbestos is still so common in buildings that the local recycling depot has an asbestos day where you can bring your asbestos boards etc in suitably coloured bags
