This should be of interest to many on here. Highways England have started consultations for improvements to the A12/A14 Junction.

Option 1 as presented there, looks to me like more of the half-arsed tweaking that has been tried and failed there before. Option 4 on the other hand looks like it would actually make a difference to trafic flow, but wth the extensive roadbuilding required, including two new bridges, would like have a bigger impact on the local area. |  |

Surely it has to be option 4 though, the roundabout connecting the A12 and A14 is a pain in the arse at any time - but they must make it so only EV drivers can use the link. |  |

Wonder what options 2 & 3 were?
Option 4 supplies the best long term solution although another elevated road between current A14 an Thorrington might bring more noise pollution to residents.
They will of course go for the cheaper option which will mean reviewing it again a few years down the road. |  |
