Norwood likely exit raises a couple of things for me. 16:23 - Nov 11 with 3584 views | OriginalMarkyP | 1. I hope they have got the Bonne deal sorted behind the scenes because I don't think Pigott can shine in PC's system. 2. Even if the Bonne deal is done I hope they have lined up a replacement because we can't rely on Bonne to not get injured or lose form over the rest of the season. 3. We shouldn't recall Simpson. He should be allowed to play out the fantastic season he's having at Swindon, not come back and be a bit part player here. Him playing the whole season there will benefit us in the long run. 4. (the most contentious one) Don't rule out Norwood playing for us again before Jan and even (although unlikely) working his way back into the fold. 5. I haven't forgotten Jackson but he's as useless as Pigott as a lone striker.

Norwood likely exit raises a couple of things for me. on 20:22 - Nov 11 by blueislander | Despite Dolly’s protestations to the contrary, the poor guy is not in good mental state. I assume that help is available to him, and I hope he avails himself of it. |
He is a repeat drink driver who has been caught twice. Who knows how many other times he has done it and not been caught? He probably does need to take some time away to reassess things, and I hope he gets the help that he needs, but his actions have been very poor indeed.

There's not much in the way of entertainment in this town - just the cinema and a couple of pubs. |
I think that’s right. Sometimes, a couple is two but that’s when it’s used specifically I.e. couples only. More generally it’s 2 or 3. In fact I can barely recall the times I’ve gone out for a “couple of beers” and that was in any way meant to be 2 beers max. And it’s only when we get to 4 beers we need to admit we’re now having “a few”.

Norwood likely exit raises a couple of things for me. on 16:44 - Nov 11 by wkj | RE #4 - Reading through some of the stuff today, I wouldn't be shocked if they played Celina or Chaplin as the striker in an emergency before Norwood. As speculated, his goose is cooked here. |
Agreed, he’s done here. 31, injury prone, hardly plays, contract up in the summer. Norwood is never going to be offered another contract at this club and I doubt will play again for us again. It’s right for all parties that he moves on. If by a miracle we can ship out Jackson and Nolan too, it might give us room to bring in another striker and possibly a full back.

That clears that up then. 'not a good chap to have around the younger more impressionable squad members' is just guesswork though. If the club have decided he's a bad influence for the first team, they wouldn't be allowing him to train with the youths if they thought it wasn't safe and sensible. None of us know what he's like around them.
