Could we not perhaps just see some level of progress?
I mean yes we scored some goals in 3 games. And we ve had the occasional 45 minutes of controlling some games.. but as PC says, there is on consistency. He can't keep saying it every week, it's down to him to solve it and he's not doing it.
Watsons piece about PC quotes is quite apt in that despite signing 19 players, not much has changed. We are a light touch, we concede. We have errors galore. We switch off and we are failing to put in a performance of actual quality.
Forget play offs or top 2 for a second.. where is the process to provide PC with trust. I gave it to him based on the past. But he's thrown that away by showing that he's not doing at town what he did at others. Is that Leam. Was the league easier? Whats the answer?,
He can try to trick people by mentioning post Xmas runs etc.. but he's failing to share that before Xmas in his first seasons at pompy and Wigan, he was pretty much unbeaten in the first few months.
The football itself is hit and miss. There isn't an identity. There isn't front foot football at all. We have a keeper who holds onto the ball for 20 seconds then kicks it long to bonne. Or when we do try and play the ball from the back it's slow and pedestrian as it was last season.
Against deep sitting teams PC said the easiest way to beat them is to play 2 strikers and hit the diag and get behind them.. we've not seen it. And it looks as if we now have an incredibly pssed off striker who scored 20 odd goals in this league last season. And PC comes out and basically laughs at Pigott not being happy about lack of games and berates his 3 games no goals.
If PC can't coach the players in the squad and neither can his staff it gets to a point you bring someone else who could, what would stop this happening is for PC to show he was the brains behind his successes and not his assistant as PC hasn't done anything successful whilst here to claim anything but that he needs Leam. |  |
