Is anyone else tonight now wondering 01:01 - Dec 8 with 1726 views | ArnieM | Where in the hell does this Club go from here ? Because for me it feels like it’s unravelling before my eyes and I can’t see where this nightmare will end .

Is anyone else tonight now wondering on 01:11 - Dec 8 with 1663 views | gainsboroughblue | Given all the optimism of the summer, this actually does feel like the lowest ebb we have been at. Ashton has got a hell of a job in recruiting somebody who can not only arrest a slide and turn around a fanbase and playing staff so devoid of confidence, but also someone who can buy into us as a project, because to the casual observer, we probably look nowhere near the attractive proposition we may like to think we are.

Manning spoken about, honestly, why would you leave MK dons to come here for anything other than money? what awaits you here now is a squad with players that believe they should be in the league above, and a set of fans that await you to fail so they can be proved right. i hope whoever comes in opens up with "Ipswich, a mid table league 1 club that has hopes of getting promotion" instead of "this is a massive club that doesnt deserve to be in league 1" we are an established league 1 club now.

The appointment from Ashton needs to happen very soon to bring in some stability, and time before Jan window, and it needs to be the correct appointment that the fans can get back onboard with. I think you have to let a bit of the emotional settle after a performance like that Charlton are clearly a decent side but they certainly gave us the opportunity to get back into the game, we simply were not good enough to exploit it and that's where the real disappointment is for me The challenge will be to put in a far better performance against them at home later in the season I wouldn't say the season is dead but it's very close to it without a serious upsurge in results [Post edited 8 Dec 2021 3:03]

Is anyone else tonight now wondering on 05:38 - Dec 8 with 1208 views | solomon | It’s a difficult time no doubt about that but in truth it’s been a difficult time for quite a while. Inheriting a manger you did not appoint may have been a disadvantage for our new owners but much like most of us we took it at face value and went with it, it clearly wasn’t working and ultimately results did for him. It’s only been a few days and I expect the players are feeling slightly disjointed and not experiencing great levels of mind management themselves right now, let’s not forget they’re human beings too. Now is not the time for panic, realistically we are starting All over again, hopefully the club will make an appointment that bears fruit for all our aspirations and dreams, we may all have to accept it may not be within the time frames we have been expecting / demanding. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Is anyone else tonight now wondering on 06:41 - Dec 8 with 1065 views | homer_123 | Oddly....no. Last night was bad but not really any worse than under Cook. Don't let a few idiot fans skew the wider picture. We'll be fine.

Exactly this. For the first two years in league one we we plagued with players who thought they were too good for it. Our player of the season last year was a guy we signed on a free because he was released by a league 2 club. He won the award because he really wanted to be here. Instead of learning from this, we go and buy a bunch of guys for whom it's a big step backwards to play for us. And now we're wondering why they are struggling to find reserves of motivation in the face of poor coaching and management.

Is anyone else tonight now wondering on 07:39 - Dec 8 with 812 views | skinnybob72 | As someone else has mentioned Town are now an established Lge1 club. Three seasons and getting further from promotion each season. This season isn’t even halfway yet but the chances of making the play-offs are already slim to none. Another few performances like that and we’ll be sucked into the relegation battle.

You forgot the bit where the manager has to be able to tell Ashton to let him/her manage the team ! [Post edited 8 Dec 2021 7:58]

Spot on, it feels like we are blowing a big chance to get back up and that the optimism of a promised new era is fast disappearing . That's why performances like last night feel so much worse because our hopes of better days seem far away . The lack of passion from the players is unacceptable . Whoever comes in has got to have players giving 100% , or things will get worse .
