With Jagielka unexpectedly available, is that why we've suddenly sold Nsiala?

Credit where its due. Rooney has done a very credible job there under the circumstances.

Absolutely. They would be midtable were it not for the points deduction, which is impressive given the mess there.

Indeed. Wonder how much longer he'll put up with the situation there?

I reckon he'll be straight off to Gillingham.

Yep, true. Might make him a far better manager than had he done the just missing out on the play-offs thing that Derby have specialised in.

I can see him naming himself on the bench if allowed.

They must have some decent players who wouldn't mind dropping down a division. What's their keeper like?

Only three teams have conceded fewer than Derby in the Championship this season, and Jagielka has player 20 out of 25 games this season. And it can hardly be said that Rooney is a defensively minded character!

We are clearly not looking for old journeymen, but Jagielka has always been quality, has performed in the league above very recently and is clearly fit. One would also think he would help with the development of our current crop of defenders. I reckon we have at least 8 defenders and wingbacks, all of whom are aged 28 or under. Someone with an additional decade of experience, 375-odd Premier League appearances and 40 England caps would certainly have something to teach them.

But it might not be the McKenna way. In which case, absolutely fair enough.
