Bands you need to see before you die 19:37 - Feb 20 with 5027 viewsGlasgowBlue

Seen pretty much every big act that I wanted. Bowie, Macca, The Stones, The Who etc. So for me it's the Rumours line up of Fleetwood Mac.

Highly unlikely.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

One final Spinal tap tour would be appreciated.

The must see list I've ticked off includes the stones, ACDC, Lynrd Skynrd, Prince, Blondie, Van Halen, Roxette, GnR, Motorhead

Bands I've seen that would be on try and see again include Skunk Annansie who are maybe the best band I've seen live, Plan B, Thunder.

Bands that deserve a special mention

Flight of the Conchords
The Mighty, Mighty Bosstones for letting me and my mates raid their rider after their show at the waterfront sometime around 1998/99

+1 for Skunk Anansie's live performance

was due to see them at the Astoria in London pre internet days, and Skin had laryngitis so they cancelled. Got all the way down to that there London to find a note on the door of the club :(

Then they played at Warwick Uni in 97/98 and I was working in the diner supporting my student lifestyle. Served Cas (bassist) and told him about my trip to the Astoria - he was great and said he'd introduce me to the band later - and he did. After an amazing gig, he came over (I wasn't hard to find with peroxide punk spikes) and took me to meet the band.
Still one of my favourite nights, left them to it after a chat and minor swooning. Told my friends later on that night, who rubbished the story, only to have Skin walk over on her way out, stop and say was lovely meeting me and gave me a smacker right infront of my mates. jaws on floor all round and great evening for me

Band i'd love to have seen? - Levellers at Corn Exchange in the early 90s. Was in queue for tickets as the sold out sign went up :(

I have seen most of the people mentioned on here, and many more, but really wish I had seen The Sensational Alex Harvey Band. My wife did but that doesn’t help me!

Good shout.
I really wish I had seen them, and I can't think why I didn't, plenty of opportunity. (And herlittletown did see them!)

Been to 2 Oasis gigs back in the day. A number of us tripped down to Cork in the 90's to see the Morning Glory tour supported by Prodigy and both were fantastic! One of the best gigs I've been too. Spin on a decade or so went to see Oasis in circa 2004 and it was and absolute mess, Liam chucking cans into the audience giving out a out the sound which he was spot on about. Everything was a mess couldn't here anything it all jumbled up into noise. Only gig I ever left early soo disappointed.

Saw Blur at Féile over here in Ireland during the parklife tour and they were amazing, better than the album which for me is the test for all bands. Can you do it without all the producing etc (ahem Stone Roses)

Edited: As my phone autocorrects Irish words.

Prodigy supporting? Crumbs, that sounds alright. Think prodigy might be my answer to the OP's question actually, whatever that was.

Obviously not the same as seeing them in the early 90's, but Levellers are still well worth a look when they're on tour. Simon hasn't been playing with them live since gigs have been a thing again, but hopefully he'll be back soon.

I didn't go and see them at the Gaumont in 1974 (?) even though I saw just about every other band who played there because I objected to the 'Tomorrow Belongs To Me' album title. 'I'm not going to see this bunch taking their cue from the Hitler Youth' I thought - I hadn't quite understood Alex's wry humour at that point. callow youth that I was, and I regret missing what was reported to be one of the best ever gigs in Ipswich to this very day.

I've seen The Prodigy - I'm also convinced I saw them at Portman Rd backing someone else up but no one remembers this and I cannot find evidence that it ever happened.

The waterfront was a warm up gig for their tour, we all had to get tickets via Kerrrang.

They came on with no support and absolutely went at it.

They hung around after the gig chatting and were just a really nice band. We met a lot of bands after gigs there and i would say almost all of them were lovely.

Most of them would be quite niche on here but we met Feeder and Rocket from the Crypt who I imagine will be familiar to most.

Met Reef after they played the UEA, also nice lads.

Didn't get to meet QOTSA when they played but most bands always came to chat with those of us hanging around.

Saw Giz Butt and his proper band (Janus Stark) play to about 40 people and a dog at Fat Pauli's too

Poll: Will Phil ever confirm we are actually close on a signing ever again
