I was thinking about any potential re-development of the stadium 14:57 - Mar 31 with 2726 viewsCheltenham_Blue

This morning. We seem to think that the obvious one for re-dev is The Cobbold, but the only place we can really take that is a stand that goes across the road, like at Villa Park or at a couple of others that I can't think of now.

Could be that the Pioneer/Britannia/East/CO-OP might be the easiest one with room to develop into, and perhaps thats in the thinking for the parcel of land behind the SAR, a new family zone?

Poll: Is it more annoying when builders

Small point. But your "half our catchment area is the North Sea" quip was superbly placed to try and get his guard down. Thought Ashton was gonna crack under your questioning a couple of points and let slip some facts and figures.

But if our catchment includes the North Sea, have we scouted for talent on Sealand?

Poll: Right now, who would you rather have as Prime Minister?

They have a national team: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sealand_national_football_team

We need to find a way of getting advanced sales from asylum seekers. The trouble is they’re not very good at organising when they’re going to be displaced and forced to find a better life. It’s bad planning if you ask me.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

I did chuckle at that too.

Ashton comes across well, speaks eloquently, very engaging and clearly has a desire to succeed.

However, I might be completely out of line, but there is something about him I'm not sold on, and I can't put my finger on it. I've no doubt he has the clubs best interests at heart, but I can't help feeling like he's a snake oil salesman.

Obviously more than happy to be proved wrong and I might be being unduly harsh, but it's just a nagging feeling I have.

Oh there’s a Brentish element about him and for those of us who’ve endured corporate speak in our careers, he’s a bullsh£t bingo players dream.

I suppose having worked on projects and programmes for a lot of years, I’m a bit used to it, so that doesn’t bother me. The kind of things he is talking about makes sense to me, but as others have said, it’s all about delivery.

In the last nine months, I don’t think he’s got too much wrong. The Cook situation was odd but that’s about all. If he does mess up I will pile in with the rest, but to date I think overall he’s been a breath of fresh air after the dweebs that we’re running this club - into the ground.

Yep agreed, I also work with people that like to be wordsmiths, can definitely see your Brent take on him, but as you say, compared to what we have been used to he is a breath of fresh air. However, that particular bar wasn't set very high!

You mean the bar was rolling about on the ground. Yep, agreed.
