Another Radio 1 DJ accused of sexual misconduct.

Gonna be bad news for the BBC.

I'd just read the accounts of some of the women who have made accusations on the BBC story. Horrendous and harrowing stuff.

I think this is probably the least shocking revelation I've ever heard.

I wonder how hard they worked to cover this one up as well. It's a rotten organisation.

The BBC article is talking about how they (BBC) asked his former employers (BBC) for comment or confirmation which was declined or a vague answer given.

Tim Westwood is older than Nigel Farage.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

You sure about that?

Heard him on the radio pretty recently and he definitely sounded like a 17-18 year old yoof.

Agree. You'd have thought they'd have done a root and branch operation to put themselves beyond reproach after Savile. Some of the women say he was reported to them as well, so they can't claim to been none the wiser about him. After Savile, you'd think they'd be doing their utmost to investigate any allegations made.

Its not just the BBC, he's been on a Global station for about a decade now and involved in areas of the music industry since the 90s. The will to protect abusers in positions of power runs right through society

This has been discussed in Hip Hop circles for decades

It’s why he was disowned

Shame formal steps weren’t taken a lot earlier

A dark shadow of shame over UK Hip Hop culture and Lowestoft, too.

These accusations have come about due to a BBC documentary and investigation.

It’s almost as if they need firm evidence before doing something. Acting on rumours is far more reliable.

The thing with Savile that I find the most baffling is that there were people out there over the past 50 odd years that actually "didn't" think that he was a complete wrong'n.

I agree with that. A lot of people must have ‘suspected’ or knew that didn’t actually inform anyone. Or maybe they did but they were threatened with the sack.

Nurses, doctors, hospital management, the police, the bbc etc. Various people must have suspected but nothing was done about it.

I think it was a combination of many things and the excuses get / seem worse the longer the years pass by.

BBC bosses knew, as did the people on the floor, as did the musicians. Worst of all some of the higher end police knew as did the hospital bosses who took his money - they preferred his money than justice.

If he's 64 - and this does seem to be factually correct - then when this picture was taken he was 51????????

WTF

If rumour were good enough to convict a woman of witchcraft in the 17th century, then it's good enough for Tim Westwood.
