I actually find the Dozzell views a bit sad really. Would like him to do well. Can't work out why you picked out the Dozzell negatives and like them.

Can’t you work it out? It’s because they rate him higher than Dozzell at QPR. Therefore we may have a better player on our hands. FFS it’s not that difficult is it?

Seems like a good signing. QPR had a respectable mid table championship finish and they seem gutted to see him go. Could be a shrewed signing and will offer us some height in both boxes.

It reads incredibly well for us.
Given that KM hasn't spent any money yet, I'm very hopeful for good times.

You don't like being disagreed with because you pride yourself on knowing better than everyone else. We get it.

Why do you care so much what QPR fans think of Dozzell?

He's not here anymore, it doesn't matter, it doesn't affect us.

You're just keane on putting the boot in.

Perhaps the idea is for him to sit deeper, allowing Morsy greater freedom to get up the pitch (and score more goals)?

Would a midfield of Evans, Morsy & Ball work ?

Really like this signing. Sounds like a grafter, and brings the physical "robustness" that KM slips into conversations.. 6' 2", midfield enforcer, with versatility to play along the back. Optimum age and on a freebie...

Sounds like the new Cole Skuse to me. I'll very much take that as a solid squad player.

thought exactly the same when i started to read up on him.

but probably with a bit more pace in him.

Best mate is a QPR fan, and the word he used about them losing Ball was "gutted".

The old cliche about new managers building a spine for their team - guessing KMcK is pretty happy with keeper and defence after our run in last season, has brought in some physicality for the midfield and up front, so expecting a playmaker to follow (if not Celina, I'm sure there'll be other options being considered)

They were very complimentary on Twitter when the club announced he was leaving. Very much got the sense he was ultimate professional, does the basics very well, certainly a deeper lying midfielder, and gave absolutely everything for shirt when he played.

I think he'll be a good operator at this level, and am sure he will have attracted some Championship interest.

I heard his interview on TalkSPORT a few weeks back where he talked about his book, his QPR release and plans moving forward. He said he had a few offers already and was keen to stay in the Championship. Or certainly that he was confident of playing at that level.

Hopefully a bit more pace and the ability to tackle. Ball sounds like he never hides from the battle, so that’s an immediate improvement on Skuse.

Encouraging there are so many positive comments from the club he is leaving. Appears the type of defensive midfielder we need and a strong character in that CM area. The options of Morsy, Ball and Evans (if he can stay fit) provides a balance and good competition in that area of the pitch. Can see Ball screening the back 3, allowing Morsy to get forward and Evans starting from the bench.

Hi ladies and gents. Don’t usually do this sort of thing but I’m a QPR fan and just wanted to give you a few thoughts on Dom Ball now he’s signed because quite frankly, he deserves it.

He’s quite limited as a footballer, certainly not the most talented player you’ll have next season… but my word does he get through some work. He’s been the absolute definition of ‘honest pro’ for us. He strikes me as the kind of guy who’s aware of his technical limitations so knows he has to make up for it by working harder than anyone else on the pitch. He really has been in extraordinary workhorse with little exception. He should have been in the team over the last couple of months of the season as our bottle disappeared out of our ar*eholes but sadly that conclusion was never reached.

In terms of style, he sits deep, shows for the ball, plays simple passes and doesn’t stop running for 90 minutes, week in, week out. Decent in the air and can fill in as an emergency centre half but he’s always been better as a holding midfielder. He’s been the type of player to make me feel proud of him and the team when he’s been in it. Could have and probably should have worn the armband at times. I understand why they let him go but I’d have been overjoyed if they’d have given him another year or even two. I hope he comes good for you. Amazing to me that a scrappy Championship club didn’t fancy him. I’ll have no choice but to check your scores and how he’s getting on. Hopefully it’s a great season ahead for you and him.

Whilst I’m here - a quick word on Dozzell…

I really liked the look of him last season, showed plenty of energy and can play a pass. QPR is one of the least patient atmospheres in football over the last ten years or so and so he came in for a bit of flack. Hopefully Beale can get his arm around him and teach him a few things because there’s clearly talent there. Let’s hope we manage to put him in a position he had a chance of succeeding next year.

All the best!

Balls attributes sound absolutely perfect for a team looking to get out of League 1, no fancy bullsht, pure grit and determination

There’s a difference between being disagreed with (which of course I don’t mind - that’s normal), and being accused of hating and being jealous of Dozzell. You have to be pretty judgmental and blinkered to read that into what I posted. I was clearly pointing out that the QPR fans seemed to rate Ball as a more effective player than Dozzell. But according to you that means I hate him and am jealous of him. Maybe look at yourself and ask yourself why you are so quick to accuse others of those two emotions.

You have to be careful on having an opinion on ex-players that doesn’t match the masses. They get upset.

I’m with you. Simply giving a QPR view on Dozzell v Ball, merely reporting the news.
