He reminds me a bit of Portillo - not least because he likes a bit of travel and media work. In terms of presenting, I don’t think he’s as good as Portillo (who always came across as a smug spanner in govt), but there are a lot worse out there. | | | |

Most people seem to like Stephen Fry. He's done some amazing charity work, especially for mental health and campaigns against discrimination, yet I still can't stand him.
Ed Balls however seems like a decent guy that just sadly chose to support that lot. Comes across as a nice man, who doesn't take himself seriously and I'm all for such friendly digs. After all, we have a lot more ammo than them.
In a year or two when we are back alongside them, they'll still have no history of any note. | | | |

I like Ed, Fry and Delia. There I’ve said it and it’s good to get it off my chest.
Ed’s wife has the Tories squirming with every speech she makes, so I like her too.
Finally, and don’t drum me out of TWTD, if we’d yo-yo’d up and down from Prem to Championship as often as they have, I’d have been slightly pleased with that too.
Yes I know they’ve never won anything, nor likely too, and they were relegated again last season, but the ride would have been fun. Be honest now. |  |

I can't even explain what it is.
On paper, he's done so much that I'd think what a great human.
He doesn't come across as being better than everyone else even though he's clearly of significant intellect. He doesn't come across as condescending.
It's probably really unfair of me and because he just comes across as a proper amalgamation (voice, appearance, clothing) of everything you'd expect from a Tory! | | | |
