I find my timeline throws up a lot of stuff that I've not opted into following. I'm not even following them, but people I know might be so they're on my TL. It's annoying, I see loads of Derby county related stuff at the moment for example, it's really poor UX. |  |

I find similar on instagram. There are plenty of ‘sponsored’ posts that are based on your searches, likes and accounts you do follow etc.
But every now and again there is a picture of video from an account that I am 100% convinced I have never seen, let alone follow. Must be some algorithm to boost followers for some sad saps that care about these things |  | | |
