We’re the 21st worst loss makers from our time in the Championship 19:18 - Aug 27 with 1258 viewsElderGrizzly

With a loss of £91m between 2010 and 2020

Nottingham Forest at the top with 3 x that at £270m and Derby not far behind which explains why they went tits up

Oh for the days of Championship football huh?

Just re confirms what we know....Mick did a heck of a job with a sows ear.

Also shows that Ashton spunked a load of cash at Brizzle City.

Seems like ancient history given all that’s changed since Gamechangers took over. Wonder if asked what sort of number Evans would say his Ipswich losses were.

I've no doubt that...like KM....Ashton will have a very clear set of objectives that he'll be held accountable to.

Does this table take account of how long each club was in the Championship? Does it take account of parachute payments?

All this sort of table tells you is that making a profit or breaking even in the Championship is impossible. In the PL for 10 years Sunderland lost in excess of £100m there and nearly went bust. They’re not alone. Bar a few clubs at the top of the heap, every other is fodder of zero importance.

Imagine the obscene amounts of money the Derby and Forest owners must have made from tax offbreaks.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

If I had £200m, I’d definitely throw it away on a football club so I could get richer. Def info.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

It’s a little worse than that is it not? Many of those teams were carrying Prem wages and got promoted - some more than once, offsetting losses with the Prem Magic Money Tree, Others got relegated and may have increased their losses

At least some of those clubs got a promotion out of all that spend/loss.

Doesn’t look good value for money to Evans.
