Presumably my ticket bought cheap for £18 a couple months ago is now worthless if there’s no trains running at all that day. Might end up having to be a weekend thing |  |

I think it’s engineering work on the London to Sheffield line causing the issues.
Best bet will be: Ipswich to Peterborough, Peterborough to Doncaster, Doncaster to Sheffield. The 09.58 from Ipswich will have you at Sheffield at 1.48, although that might be pushing it time wise with the team over to the ground taking a good 30 mins from the city centre.
There’s other options earlier in the morning which take slightly longer, but will give you more breathing room. |  | | |
