I agree, but the reason it's annoying/people get upset is that you do it on every.single.political.thread.

You've done it twice on this one already.

Someone points out some Boris or Conservative malfeasance, and you pop up with "the Labour right are just as bad etc. etc. etc.".

Bit silly.

I’m sure Zapers and DaveU are upset with politics because it finally turned on Boris, their Big Daddy Brexit.

Do you really think my concerns about the state of our democracy are the same?

Their big daddy Brexit? Care to explain. I didn't vote because I do not live in the UK. If i had voted, I would have voted to remain.

You were lumped in with daveU and I took it as read. Apologies for trusting that poster’s judgement more than I should.

I think you should demand your own apology. daveU, FFS!!!

Indeed. Politics seems to have attracted those who love the game of politics and/or want to get paid, rather than the public servants of old.

Of course, there were plenty of self-serving politicians back then too. But it just seems so brazen nowadays — maybe because the political media seem to have made it all about the game too. They’re fully part of this political industry that’s pushed the representative democracy itself down the list of their priorities.

representative democracy is flourishing... They represent those who pay for their successful campaigns, at the expense of the electorate, very well.
