OK, so the new job involves taking groups of foriegn tourists all round the UK, guided tours essentially. I love it! One of the common things to be done is to curate a playlist of 'best of British' songs and bands to play during the tour. I've put one together and it's almost 24 hours long played through, but it will be on shuffle for my own sanity as well as that of those on multi days tours.
All nationalities, all age groups from 6 upward, what should I include that I may have missed? We're talking rock and pop generally.
No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

I’d blow their ear drums out with stuff like this (maybe not too good for reviews though, except from the Japanese as they’re quirky).
F**k the reviews, it's the tips I'd be more worried about!

Right, Rockier end of Folk, I don't know this, though actually quite like it when I hear it. This is the sort of stuff I'll miss out on, suggestions especially welcome.
A rapid, rough selection.
Tull:
Span:
(The original Thomas the Rhymer was Scottish)
(Somehow topical ..)
Fairport:
Fotheringay:
Oyster Band:
Lindisfarne:
Not that rocky, but a classic of its time (and suitable if you find yourself in the North East)
Not going to be able to respond to everybody the way this is heading, but I genuinely appreciate all of the replies, there is a lot (as I expected) that I had missed and as this playlist is 30+ hours now I'll probably start another.
It seems to be something people do actually enjoy thinking about, and I will need to think about themed stuff for multi day trips so I think I'll do those as individual threads.
Much appreciated all, and feel free to keep them coming.
