Ever since John Major, Tory leaders have been desperately trying to hold the different factions together. For the first time, they chose a leader who was too stupid to understand what her role needed to do. She pandered to the far right, and the party is now splitting apart. I can really see this is the culmination of more than 20 years of ideologically opposed factions now coming into public view.
Outcome may be that they split into a far right UKIP-type party and a Social Democrat-type party. this has been brewing a long time. |  |

I think it would be good for the nation if the party split. The deluded far-right go back to the holes they crawled out from, and the centre-right can rebuild into a one-nation conservative party that has the nation's best interest at heart and be a force for good in British politics. |  |

Of course, these are important measures to take. Nobody in their right mind would object either. The fact that it takes Starmer so long to get anywhere near them is the worry. Along with the likelihood of these things actually happening given his Johnsonesque dodgy record of keeping his word. |

They will split when there is PR.
The deluded right will believe the vocal minority in the constituency is representative of the majority and form a new party.
The majority don't take part in the 'polls' so the deluded right will pick up the odd seat but not much else.
I think PR will be great.
Not so much for representative democracy, hung parliaments or coalitions of convenience but for the number of parties.
I'll vote for the Legalize It party but they'll be too stoned to bother canvassing voters. Imagine Bill and Ted turning up at your door. Duuuuude. |  |
