My big old goldie is in her senior years and a few weeks ago had to be taken to the vet after having difficulty walking. Prognosis was a spinal condition that she may or may not recover fully from in time although the pain relief and anti inflammatory medication appears to be working well. She is not allowed to climb stairs anymore or jump in or out of the van. She’s been a constant companion over the last eleven years or so and after the recommended period has expired (next week) I would like to be able to bring her out with me again.
Any other dog owners use a ramp and what type would you recommend please. |  |

when my GSD got to senior years i just used to lift him in an out the van for walks.
and since he sadly left, i have continued to lift our new GR pup in/out the van. anything to save their legs/hips.... im sure my back will hold out |  |

Problem temporarily solved.
Found an old ironing board left in the garage roof space still with the padding on and it appears to make a very fine ramp indeed. The old girl was quite happy to disembark the van and is getting loads of fuss at my job today from the clients.
Lovely to be able to bring her with me again after nearly a month. Happy as Larry. | |
