I thought we had it tbf, but maybe not allowed to use it if not all L1 teams have it

Looked on 20:21 - Nov 12 with 2538 views | ArnoldMoorhen | I've screen grabbed it and watched frame by frame: inconclusive, at best. Somebody in line may have had the perfect view, but the cameras show that it is possibly a goal. You really can't prove that all of the ball was completely over the line from the video. Possible- yes! Probable- meh! Definite- nah!

So definitely a case for GLT then. I didn’t realise L1 doesn’t use it. I don’t see why - as technology goes, it’s simple and pretty much infallible.

I’ve just seen the video and I’m even more convinced than I was at the time that it was over the line tbh

It looks like it may have just been over the line, but without goal line technology it’s almost impossible to give it. The ref or Lino would be guessing

Isn't there? I thought it was in use, seem to remember an incident a couple of seasons ago where the refs watch 'buzzed' to confirm a goal.

Because it and League Two are the poor relations. In the Premier League, the ball crossing the line or not crossing the line could be worth millions of pounds. In the Championship, they’re all fighting to get to “the promised land” but it feels like League One is considered the gateway to non-league, so how far down do we need to go? It also wouldn’t surprise me if the clubs below Championship level pleaded poverty on it and saw it as an unwanted expense. Given that the FA exist only to punish clubs below the Championship (you never see clubs in the Championship or higher getting slung out of cup competitions for fielding ineligible players), they weren’t going to help with setting up the tech or covering costs were they* *I haven’t actually seen Harness’s shot yet.** ** Looks like some of the ball may have caught the line going by the freeze frame I just did. But wouldn’t it be great if the 48 teams who make up the bottom two divisions of this country’s professional football leagues got their heads out of their asses and brought in professional technology. Had it in Championship. Think a Joe Garner goal won Town a game against Birmingham and they had a goal ruled out by the tech. Early 2017/18 season. [Post edited 13 Nov 2022 14:27]

Ironically it’s because of the tinpot little Sunday league clubs like Cheltenham, FGR etc that we don’t have goal line technology in Lg 1
