Is everyone alright? 11:26 - Dec 15 with 7139 views | SlippinJimmyJuan | I feel a bit under the weather, and a little bit flat and anxious in the run up to Christmas, despite looking forward to it. Quite a nice day where I am though, so will probably take a good, long walk later. Eager for kick off on Saturday, although Wycombe worry me. Have been flicking through last night's and this morning's threads and have found them to be quite tetchy with a lot of people getting their claws out for no real reason. So I ask, how are you today? What's good? What's bad? What are you going to do about it? P.S. no bickering on this thread please and thank you.

Is everyone alright? on 14:06 - Dec 15 by brazil1982 | Covid hit me last week, now recovering. Off to Suffolk to visit relatives this weekend (I live in York) - I never feel quite prepared for the Christmas visit and it's always rushed having to see many people, as my my relatives don't visit the North so all the pressure is on us! Mum's dementia is progressing so it will be an interesting weekend. It is what it is, got to keep on. The best mental health medicine I have is to go for a walk and try to spot things, like birds, or unusual brick work, on buildings, something different to make your mind wander. |
Glad to hear you're on the mend, enjoy your time with your family :) Hopefully you'll get some time to put your feet up amongst the travelling. Sorry to hear that about your mum, but you seem like you have the right attitude and I'm sure your family will be glad to have someone with that kind of strength around. Sending you all good vibes and festive cheer!

Is everyone alright? on 11:47 - Dec 15 by Pippin1970 | Hope you ok pal . Off work with flu going around. Diaphragm in complete agony if you move or cough. It's that time of year where everywhere is pitch black by 4ish. Bring on Spring lol. |
Best wishes and I hope you get well soon. SB Edit: Missed the part where the OP asked for no bickering and whilst I think people should own their dubious scientific positions on here it can wait for another time. [Post edited 15 Dec 2022 15:29]

Not really the thread for it do you think! Been loving seeing the world covered in frost for days on end. Beautiful. Enjoy Christmas more by spending less money on and more time with those you care about would be my advice. [Post edited 15 Dec 2022 15:03]

Is everyone alright? on 15:07 - Dec 15 with 1217 views | Lord_Lucan | As you ask I'm feeling a bit down in the dumps. I don't feel ill as such, although I did a Covid test yesterday as I have a continual metallic taste in my mouth - I am though, by all accounts Covid free. I have a mix of tiredness and apathy - with a bit of anxiety mixed in - plus I can't concentrate on anything. Well you did ask.

Yes, love seeing the snow cling on across the fields and the frost under foot. Very good advice too. Enjoy!

Sorry to hear that and hope your melancholy mood passes. Good to know you ate covid free, but sounds like you should see dentist - I think a metallic taste is often a sign of gum disease, so good to rule that out to start with. If you're feeling foggy, don't push yourself too hard. How long has it all been going on, could be worth a doc's appointment too. Whatever you decide to do, I hope you get your mojo back soon!

Is everyone alright? on 15:50 - Dec 15 with 1136 views | Dubtractor | As of the last few days I'm feeling pretty good, but the last few months have been sh1te tbh. Have had a string of bugs and colds, culminating in a bad case of the flu a few weeks ago. Loads of stress and hassle with a house purchase that fell through after 6 months, generally feeling miles off colour and pretty bloody miserable. But we've now found another house, and I finally feel bug free. Christmas can happen happily now!

You mean my arse? Edit - as for gum disease, as a lifelong smoker my gums are shot to bits and my teeth are catching up. Plan is to have a complete set of implants next year. [Post edited 15 Dec 2022 15:56]

Oh well done - so you are all sorted then? Are you moving far - maybe into that mansion type thing at the end of your road?

Yeah we're sorted. Moving into a place on old Norwich Road, on the bit that's basically closed to traffic. Always thought that mansion would have been a great party house!

So you're going to be a Whittonite. That house is very impressive - but I guess it is now at least two houses or maybe flats? I think parking could be a problem for an Ipswich Playboy Mansion?

Bloody hell. Miss Slave will be gutted! Looked at a place in Charsfield today 225k for a quick sale with a third of an acre or so. Shame about the main road through the middle! Got some gardening work off the Estate Agent though.

Yeah, its 4 flats. All of the houses on our street used to be the garden for that house.

Great that you are feeling better again today and the future is looking brighter. Sorry that you had to go through all of that crap to get here, but you pushed on and can now look back at a trying time with your middle finger held high. Well done mate and glad you are on the up!

Is everyone alright? on 16:52 - Dec 15 with 1010 views | StochesStotasBlewe | Bit sluggish this morning. Binned off work and took the hound out for a slow, but lovely long walk across Wortham Ling. Met a few other dog walkers who exchanged pleasantries with. Opened birthday present from the lad on my return. Blackout shirt. Absolutely made up with that. Perusing on here in front of the wood burning stove and in fine fettle now. Mrs SSB back home tommorow afternoon after another gruelling week away so will be celebrating turning 62 at the weekend. Glass or two of a cheeky Rioja this evening and will enjoy an episode of The Traitors. Oh, and we are top of the league.
| We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub. |
