Kyle Edwards 10:50 - Dec 22 with 4852 views | Dubtractor | I wonder if we may see him move on in January? Clearly has some talent, but still seems to lack much end product in terms of goals and assists. This talk of Jack Taylor being on the radar, and with Aluko back in the fold, Harness returning soon, and Chaplin clearly a McKenna favourite, makes me wonder what role Edwards has going forward. I'd rather him stay for squad depth, but wouldn't be surprised if he was one that looked for a fresh start. McKenna has generally only started him when we've not got any choice, so I'm not sure how much he rates him.

Kyle Edwards on 11:26 - Dec 22 by portmanking | I'm all for coaching players to be better, but what if Edwards just doesn't have the minerals to make the most of his attributes? It happens. There's a reason why West Brom gave up on him and I fear it'll be the same reason why we do too. |
I also feel he could be someone who maybe struggles a bit being away from home/family. He's from the Birmingham area and then left behind Birmingham and family to move here. Joined with his close mate Harper who's been sent out on loan so I wonder if he's struggles with loneliness away from the training ground etc.

Although, I'm a bit frustrated that he didnt really step up over the last few weeks, when hes had the perfect opportunity to really stake a claim with players out injured. And at a time, when we've needed a few fringe players to make the difference when called upon...He needs to get some consistency into his game. But I can't help liking him. He's got all the talent, perhaps psychologically, he puts too much pressure on himself? Tries too hard? And feels the pressure a bit?.I dunno, but it's hard to fathom why he can be a world beater for 20 minutes in a match. Then we don't see much for a few games.. From what we see of him in the media, he is a really likeable fella.Which counts for something, imo, in terms of squad atmosphere.. If a manager can get a consistent tune out of him on the pitch, then they'd have a real talent on there hands. KM somehow needs to "unlock " him.

Kyle Edwards on 11:49 - Dec 22 by J2BLUE | Hope not. Under Evans we would have probably loaned him to Plymouth or Sheff Wed. |
Or used him as part of a swap deal for Barry Bannan who then immediately retired through injury.

Kyle Edwards on 16:49 - Dec 22 with 668 views | Westcountryblue | We'd be foolish to move Edwards on. He's helped the team pick up points this season, particularly against tiring defences and gives us a totally different option from the bench. He'll be an important player over the second half of the season.
Kyle Edwards on 07:58 - Dec 23 with 577 views | PioneerBlue | Kyle Edwards Right here right now let’s face it, he hasn’t stepped up and delivered consistently. I’m not sold now, and not sold beyond this season. If there was a loan for him and a ready replacement the I’m not against that for his own development. However, KMcK calls the shots. If he likes what he sees now, can see beyond, and also likes what he brings to the squad there is no argument from me. I think exactly the same for Kayden Jackson. I’m not looking for scapegoats, a squad is a complex thing, depth is important and covering the positions is important. It’s not football manager, players aren’t always available to pick off the shelf and replace lower performers. Football is a meritocracy and it is increasingly data driven, if any player isn’t hitting the numbers the club knows and a player is likely to be given development time otherwise everyone begins to move in a different direction .
