Whatever happens we must stay right behind McKenna 20:25 - Jan 2 with 2438 views | jasondozzell | He's been brilliant, both on and off the pitch. I love his style of football. Got to continue to back him.
Whatever happens we must stay right behind McKenna on 20:30 - Jan 2 with 2391 views | FrimleyBlue | No ones not backing him yet. He has however been hired to achieve promotion. Only the owners know how long they are willing to give him. At present we have a shot at it which is more than we had under the previous manager. Its now upto KM and his team to achieve the target they were set.

I think he'll do it. This is where he'll show his mettle. Felt for him in the interview today immediately after the game. First time I've seen him like that. I thought we played some great stuff today but we are just lacking a bit of confidence in the box with finishing off chances we create. Bit of a pattern over recent weeks. Huge transfer window now. McKenna has been a breath of fresh air in do many v ways. If we don't get promoted this season it will be next.

Ashton was also hired to help us get promoted. Time for him and the recruitment team to deliver new players

And the right type of signing gives everyone a boost heading into the Plymouth game too. There isn’t a lot wrong here and believe most fans see that.

He was hired to take on a well funded project and drive the Club forward. Which he has done to date. This narrative about achieving promotion at all costs is simply untrue! We are building as a club which is exciting but if you are hiring to achieve promotion you don't look towards a young first time manager. Yes promotion is the goal but we have to build the squad and the club around that. It's not as simple as oh McKenna didn't get us promoted so let's do a Watford and change the manager at every blip. To address another point you made in another thread, Pension investments are a long term view not a short one. Is our first team squad more valuable than last year's?
Whatever happens we must stay right behind McKenna on 22:12 - Jan 2 with 2143 views | RedX | What we were lacking today was a fully fit Panutche Camara. That’s why he was signed, to drive through these stubborn defensive sides.

I see Camara as a long term punt dare I say. One for the future who obviously hasn't been fit so far this season but maybe we got a good transfer deal and took a gamble. Agree yes we could have done with him today...

Probably won’t see him this season but it was that “type” of player I feel we needed today. Great pity about his injury. Morsy and Evans are great but we are still lacking that cutting edge in midfield to play these type of teams. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Apart from Davis I wouldn't say it is more valuable..overall. I'd say yes to Davis and humphreys. A long term project doesn't have to mean that you'd be happy to sit in league 1 for 2/3 years. The project long term I'd imagine is a big dream and something that is realistic. But it can't get moving the longer you remain in this division. So yes I agree he was hired as a young manager for the project. But if he can't help to get the project off the ground. Then they will either try again to find someone that can or they'll move on to another potential project at another club. Imo. Hopefully though KM and Ashton work their magic this window.

Direct question for you, do you think McKenna has got this project off the ground? Simple yes or no, no blurring the lines which you do quite often.

No. People might not like it. But Cook got the project started by getting rid of the bomb squad. And working with the new CEO on putting the squad together. KM has taken on the opportunity to continue the work started. Promotion is required imo for the project to really take off and then we can move into the next stage of their plans. I know you wanted a yes or no. But I was told by others that you should always provide your reasons. [Post edited 2 Jan 2023 22:50]

Cool we're all entitled to our opinions. You have expressed yours thank you I however have a different opinion, namely McKenna has driven the project forward. Through his training, strategy and formation. We could argue about Janoi, and others till the cows come home. But the fact is we're competing at a higher level in this crap league than ever and have a much more valuable squad than we have had for years. Investment and project is on track full stop. Whatever happens we must stay right behind McKenna on 08:18 - Jan 3 with 1651 views | tommyboy1972 | I agree, what ever the temporary frustrations are I have enjoyed this season more than any since the play offs under MM. Having sat through endless dross over the last few years I really feel we are going somewhere at last, it was never going to be a season of endless wins. A good transfer window will see us kick on again.

It's not about the squad though is it? The pension fund bought ITFC not a squad of players. The question should be, Is ITFC worth more than it was 18 months ago? Because that's where the investment was made, not just the squad. The new land, the infrastructure, the ground improvements, the "squad" improvements, the near sell out crowds every other week, a dynamic young manager (still learning mind ;-)).......etc, etc, etc. So, is ITFC worth more that it was 18 months ago? I would say definitely yes and I think "the pension fund" will be pretty pleased with their work over that period. [Post edited 3 Jan 2023 9:19]

Whatever happens we must stay right behind McKenna on 09:21 - Jan 3 with 1503 views | Chrisd | I don't feel anyone is against KM, the negativity is more to do with frustration that it's like Groundhog Day for us recently. He still has the support of the fans, but there's certainly areas of the team that need work or an upgrade. 3rd for us in the league (IMO) is about right, we aren't the best side in L1 at the moment, but that doesn't mean that we can't be come May.

Whatever happens we must stay right behind McKenna on 09:35 - Jan 3 with 1440 views | NthQldITFC | This shouldn't really need saying given the dominance we are achieving in almost every game, even if we are not killing games off at the moment. I've lifted this excellent chunk of quote from Stuart Watson's piece in the 'Star' which I hope is not out of order (if it is I will delete): ----------------------------------- https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/23224364.lincoln-city-1-1-ipswich-town-stuart-watso 'But try to block out the past, which really is quite irrelevant in the here and now, and listen to the logical voice of reason. Ipswich aren’t alone in leaving Sincil Bank frustrated. Plymouth, Sheffield Wednesday, Derby, Bolton and Wycombe have all failed to win there this season. Despite major illness in the camp, two draws have been secured on the road in quick succession. And don’t forget how impressive that 3-0 home win against Oxford was little more than a week ago. Town lead the way in so many key offensive and defensive stats. They’re still the division’s topscorers. This possession-based style of play has a much a higher ceiling for success in the long run.' ----------------------------------- With a few more tweaks, when that ruthlessness is added, we are going to be looking at a really good Championship level team, squad and club setup. After that, who knows, but try to put the angst aside and relax and enjoy what is building.
