There was a priority letter/email in place for Bracknell.

Yes, which is what I said in an earlier post.

If GC's/Ultimate really do exceed the allocation then that should be done as a matter of course.

I forgot about Bracknell. Obviously an oversight from the club for Cambridge then.

Then how do new fans ever get tickets to away games, I’d have liked tickets to lots of things this year (not football) but couldn’t secure them.

I will be at a fair few more as well this year, so the points wouldn’t be an issue for me as would secure enough, but personally I wouldn’t be in favour of it.

As with a few other things (I think the Proms and Wimbledon are two notable examples), there's nothing inherently unfair with having to attend the less glamorous matches before you're given a higher priority for being able to attend the big ticket events.

If you flip it on its head, why shouldn't someone who follows Town to places like Barrow and Fleetwood be given a higher level of priority for away games that are easier to attend and will likely sell out in seconds?

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

That's just how it works - I don't get to enough to be higher up so this isn't a selfidh viewpoint.

My ex colleague supported Spurs, at clubs like that he just had to go to every away game that those above him in priority queue didn't take up tickets for to move him up the list

Same with England away, I used to apply for every game and anyone I had success in I'd go to to work myself up the list as much as I could.

The most loyal should be rewarded, there will be some people who don't ever miss an away game that will have missed out here and that isn't fair on them

Altho that then means that more distant-living fans who can only get to the occasional away game will never be able to secure tickets to matches in their area.

I'm not sure there exists an entirely satisfactory method which is fair to all - other than getting promoted to a division with more away seats.

They either have to foster relationship with other fans or the club to help out - but they shouldn't get priority really.

Even when you go up, there will always be games like this and there needs to be a fairer transparent system in place than just spending an extra £15 on a Gold Card

I think ITFC have cocked this up if GC's actually do exceed the allocation, which it seems must be the case.

I have got a Cambridge ticket but I imagine the club are already getting emails from supporters that attend all or most away games that have missed out here.

It is quite simple, there should be a priority system for any game where the allocation is less than GC numbers.

I know a dozen or so people that bought a GC just for this game. I suspect they've sold a lot of them over the past couple of weeks.

I used my pack out Portman Road points to buy my Goldcard as thought 2nd half of season might be difficult to get tickets.

Suspect a few fans may have done the same

I don't think there has ever been an Ipswich game I haven't bee able to go to, bar Brighton away at end of 2004/05

I tried to do it official way rather than through back channels as needed to egt more tickets - that went well

Same, always managed to get a ticket for any game I wanted to go to with the exception of Bournemouth away when we drew 2-2 but even then managed to get a pair closer to the game, tickets always become available.

It’s why I’ve never bothered with a GC before this season!

There’s going to be a overhaul of the loyalty system going by what Ashton said at one of those fan forums.

How is it not fair? If they held everyone from being able to select tickets until 10am exactly there'd still be a mad rush where they all get snapped up in seconds and people would unfortunately miss out.

10am is the advertised time of sale so a bit unfair for them to be available at 9:55, I know this trick is used for s/t stage but for g/c it’s usually 10 on the dot!!

I wonder if there was a queue at Planet Blue for tickets in person as well?!?

I'm one of those. Been to 8 away games this season. Even got one in the basket and put in my credit card only for it to then say ticket wasn't available. How that happens I have no idea but according to my credit card transaction history the money was taken and then reimbursed moments later

A guy just messaged me on Twitter, he hasn't missed a game since October but now can't get a ticket - and sure on flip side some people have just bought a half season ticket with a reduced priced gold card and nabbed one

I can see why it's a bit cheeky but I thought it was common knowledge that you can go on and select a ticket before sale officially opens to essentially reserve it then hit buy when it does. Been able to do that for years.

Edit - seems like the site may have had an issue anyway which messed things up for people.

Well played to those if they managed to get tickets, but gold card's really shouldn't be able to be bought this late just for a specific game. Should be a before season purchase, reckon they may look into this next year.

Thats why there is the ultimate package, if you plan on going to every game and dont get the ultimate package, you cant complain if you miss out on tickets.

I think there is a middle ground between going to enough away games to qualify and going to every single one which gives people the right to complain.

I wouldn't have been up there on allocation basis, but stories emerging from those who absolutely deserved a ticket that haven't got one

I agree, doesn't have to be all or nothing.

I've done 4 away's this year - there are plenty who have done more who I wouldn't mind losing out to. I'm more frustrated that the bonus teamcard points + gold card seems to have inflated the pool of GC holders and those who already had one have missed out.

I'll get over it as not like I've been to every game, but I think it's completely fair to say the club have completely ballsed this up and upset a number of loyal fans who have every right to be angry.
