near post there for Burns to be able to hit him with a pass, lolloping up the middle in a straight line expecting the ball to find him on a sixpence just isn't going to cut it as the lone striker.

I'm starting to see where the confusion is coming from now, I was just talking about him needing to make the near post run, not saying we need to sell him.

Was just about to say exactly that!

The way the subject header read was a tad unkind to you.

A handful of minutes after, he makes a brilliant run to the front post that drags the defender out and provides a tap in for Broadhead, so he's obviously capable, but as you say, I guess I need to remind myself sometimes that this is League 1.

I thought it was a fair comment at the time and I think Ladapo has had a great half, done really well and thought he probably should have started ahead of Hirst last couple of games he didn't get the nod.

All the other threads you started about the many, many things he did right provide balance, I’m sure….

Yeah, he’s done much, much better in the second half of the season. Not gonna lie, first half of season I was dead against him playing, he was missing loads of sitters and just not doing the job, but since Hirst arrived, he’s really upped his game and I was quite disappointed not seeing him start ahead of Hirst, fair play to him for that, when put under pressure he responded.

Indeed, when I looked back I could see why there might be some confusion, it was completely unintended to come across in that way.

I was able to follow it, he has to go near post, he indeed does

Your reply gave me the motivation to check out his goals to minutes stats for the league.

He's scored 12 goals in 1825. So 1 goal per 152 minutes (1/152m).

But we know that he started slow and didn't score in his first 9 games (500 minutes). So his 12 league goals have come in his past 1325 minutes (1/110m).

To put his strike rate into context.

Clarke-Harris is 18 from 2833 mins (1/157m)
Chaplin is 16 from 2,320 mins (1/145m)
McGoldrick is 16 from 1828 (1/114m)

4 of JCH's and 3 of McGoldrick's goals have come from penalties. For Non-penalty goals per 90 the top players in the League are:

McGoldrick - 0.64
Ennis - 0.60
Chaplin - 0.59
Ladapo - 0.59
Cosgrove - 0.56
