Sheffield wed. Barnsley... 17:01 - Apr 8 with 1215 viewsFrimleyBlue

On hols at moment. So not been able to get on. BTW what a win yesterday. Caught the score at 0-0 and next time looked it was 3 which was amazing to see again.

Anyway.. just something I was chatting to my son about last night and wondered what twtders would think too.

Barnsley v Town....

Barnsleys loss yesterday and that little gap if we can keep it could really help.

Say we face Barnsley with things tight between us and wednesday...
If you were Barnsley and possibly not able to finish top 2. Would you be going all put to beat Town just coz its a home game and youre maybe looking to consolidate 4th. Or would you be thinking you'd rather Town went up automatically and prefer to play Wednesday in the playoffs..

I'm not condoning match fixing of course.. but could we possibly see a weakened Barnsley side that day IF they fade away slightly before hand.

Anyways. Also wondering if any twtder is on a cruise at moment. Saw one last night in a Town shirt. Such a global club lol :)

a niche perspective

Players: Professional, doubt it would make a difference to them. Will want to build form going into play-offs.
Fans: Mixed. Some probably won't fancy a play-off final game against their rivals. Others might prefer it, given the form of Sheff Wed vs us (if that somewhat continues) and would prefer their chances.
Weakened Barnsley: Can't see it. Can see them playing slightly within themselves to not get injuries though, if autos not possible

Barnsley have got Wednesday's number big time. They also slapped Plymouth 3-0 a couple of weeks ago. If they are mathematically out of it by then, I think they will be quite happy see us out of the equation and certainly won't be breaking a leg. It would be interesting to see how that panned out.

If they have dropped out of the auto race by then, their fans would be loving a roll over by them to condemn Wednesday to the play offs as well, same as we would if it were the Budgies.

The only Muff in Town.

Bgger that, I'm all for an impromptu spot of match fixing if it helps us!

Incidentally, I've also just been on a cruise, but I don't think it was me you saw because we got off yesterday morning. I did see a bloke in the black town shirt the day before the Derby game and we had a quick chat. That feel-good feeling was ruined the next morning though, when I went for breakfast and I spotted a family dressed in green and yellow. Completely put me off my full English!

I am in a boat crossing the Med currently, and was wearing my ITFC colours in a Northen Italian town yesterday - does that count? If it makes you feel any better i spent the game sheltering from a violent thunderstorm listening to iFollow while you were bathed in sunshine!

I’d be surprised if they didn’t do anything other than go for the win, momentum and all that plus a big shot in the arm if they did beat us.
