Quick geography quiz ahead of Cheltenham... on 13:41 - Apr 10 with 860 views | Miaow | Thank you for your comments. Those are some excellent scores! The Soke of Peterborough is a bit of oddity and it seems that it was, for a time, treated as its own county in a way, although I think the area of Peterborough to the north of the River Nene falls within the historic boundaries of Northants. Apparently, it merged with Huntingdonshire to form the short-lived county of "Huntingdon and Peterborough" between 1965 and 1974.

That may be the hardest one on there, with the exception of Gorleston for those who are unfamiliar with the area. I'm not sure if I'd heard of Sedbergh before making the quiz, and I certainly learnt one or two things in doing so. The area around Sedbergh was one of those places which were brought together to form Cumbria about fifty years ago.

Brilliant, well done! They are all in different counties these days - their ceremonial counties are all different to their historic counties. Hopton is another place that was in Suffolk but is now in Norfolk.
