Amusing Norwich City stat 22:45 - Apr 14 with 1911 views | Miaow | In their 27 seasons spent in England's top flight, Norwich have finished in the top half of the table on only five occasions. Ipswich have done so in 12 of their 26 seasons in the top division.

It was a bit of a sad moment when I first discovered that but hopefully we will put that right in the coming years and they will sink into obscurity. They’re only just ahead of us now due to their promotions to the Premier League over the past decade or so and what do they actually have to show for what has been probably the longest period where they’ve had the upper hand over us? Yes, I’m sure their fans enjoyed their promotions but they peaked at 12th in the PL under Lambert and made the quarter-finals of the FA Cup under Farke. That’s it. So many clubs that they’d probably fancy themselves as being similar to have, over the same time period, done better in the top flight and the cups: Leicester, Southampton, Wolves, Brighton, etc. I’m not sure if anything would give me more satisfaction than us going up, them staying down and us then pummelling them home and away next season.

The Evans tax of the last 20 years can't be underestimated.

It's been a lean time in the last 20 years, football is cyclical, the future looks potentially brighter, finally! I actually think CoVid has really ravaged the Championship sides, to be getting crowds as we are now, potentially taking that into the Championship with our new owners, could be very interesting If we recruit well in the summer, I wouldn't be surprised to see us as a contender

And worth remembering, their two league cup wins are quite glorious: 1962 - beat the mighty Rochdale in the final. How did such a small team and also Rochdale get to the final? Because a number of league clubs didn’t even bother entering. 1985 - won it with an own-goal and then got relegated. On the Ball, City? Won fook all, City.

Didn’t we win something in 1962. Greatest season ever for teams from East Anglia. Ipswich champions of England and the team up the road won an insignificant trophy that 10 of the top flight teams didn’t bother to enter.

Can't wait for the 0 year anniversary of that FA Cup Quarter Final. The great thing is that it is the same year as the 50th anniversary of Justin Fashanu's goal of the season. So they will have a terrific double celebration.
