Despite being in L1 the profile of ITFC must be as big as it has been since... 13:11 - Apr 17 with 1582 views | N2_Blue | we were one of the best teams in Europe, arguably the best at one point, and two separate Premier League appearances. It's amazing how much positive stuff has happened since Gamechanger arrived in terms of having big personalities promote us as a club. Ed Sheeran being involved a lot more closely with the club since Evans left and now Fabio Wardley's presence is much bigger (admittedly down to his own recent successes and upward profile). Absolutely loved seeing him have a world championship fight with ITFC on his trunks. So our club profile is hitting the music and boxing world. Surely our profile in the US has increased somewhat with the ownership...at least fans of the other clubs Brett Johnson et al are involved with must be aware of us if they weren't before. Success on the pitch aside (which of course is really what matters) it just feels a special and exciting time in supporting our club with hopefully much more ahead, especially if the success on the pitch continues its current trajectory over the coming seasons. Not really sure the point of this post, just loving everything going on around the club, not just what's being served up on the pitch!

Owners like this are what we were dreaming of. We all need to savour every second of the good times* *not being presumptuous about promotion, I think we are on the up regardless.

Agree. Next few years are clearly going to be great. Worry about the rest later.

The mobile phone presser being about the highlight of his reign. “Why don’t you turn it off?”

People had heard of Sir Alf and Sir Bob all over the world when we were at our peak - not just football fans, but the wider public. Now we are in L1, only those football fans who take more than a passing interest in life below the Prem and Champ know what we're doing - to everyone else, we just seem to be finally looking like returning to the very minimum level we should be at, or wonder what division we are in and who our manager is these days.

I did say 'since' Not claiming our profile is bigger than the days of Sir Alf and Sir Bobby or during our prem campaigns but i am suggesting it is bigger currently in L1 than it ever was in our Champ years. I mean we're getting 29K through the gate for a start! And i kind of disagree with what you are saying. Because i have non football or very casual fans at work asking about ITFC when they see my Ipswich mug, saying things like, "oh you support the club Ed Sheeran likes. They doing quite well aren't they??" {even though we are L1]. That is the difference, these casual fans would have never asked anything about ITFC when we were in the Champ or not even taken notice of us in any way. [Post edited 18 Apr 2023 9:16]

Ah sorry.... The barometer I used is people who I interact with through work and wider friends / acquaintances from outside the Ipswich area. Usually I get asked what division are they in now and / or who's the manager.

You need to be a real boxing fan or local for Wardley to be strongly on your radar. I think the cut-through in the US will be limited to those new local connections as you say. From a community and Suffolk perspective our profile is a brilliant place. Where I fall short is the beginning of the Roy Keane era. The media buzz for Roy made us by far the most interesting club outside the PL at the time. The big-sports-media focus on us now is much less than at that time, and so I don't see us currently matching the profile we had then. We must have been in the top 3 betting to return to the PL his first season [Post edited 18 Apr 2023 9:53]

Despite being in L1 the profile of ITFC must be as big as it has been since... on 10:26 - Apr 18 with 796 views | Coastalblue | I spend time with foreign tourists every day, lots of them these days have questions about football here and the Premier League, next to none have ever heard of us when they ask who I support. Internationally unless you're in the Prem or have been there recently then you may as well not exist, particularly with people outside Europe. That's not to argue our profile isn't a lot higher than it's been for a decade or more, but we've still got a long way to go before people are aware of us outside the UK.

I think the club should offer some free tickets to any of the pension fund members who are over the in UK. The PSPRS pension fund must have thousands of members and I'm sure we could grow our following in Arizona!
