Probably a silly question 07:36 - May 22 with 3408 views | clive_baker | But do we still need a GB sticker on a car when driving in the EU? Seen some conflicting advice online and also seen it suggested that you only need it IF your number plate has a GB or England flag on it (would’ve thought it would be the other way around).

I fear you are Hoppers! It was one of the trivial triumphs of Brexit much heralded by Boris, letting us break free from the Burgundy red of EU member states and reclaim our 'obviously much more us' passport colour of errrr blue, which in the end turned out to be 95% black and made for us by the French. Blue being Scotland's representation in the UK flag of course, the nation that voted passionately to keep the passport colour red. At the time many of us wondered why this was a particular focus of Boris' speeches to the English heartlands but then there was a lot to wonder about the time.

Probably a silly question on 16:31 - May 22 by Crawfordsboot | Yes - Driving in Spain I got pulled over for not having one. I pointed out that I had GB and a small union flag on my number plate but the traffic cop explained that they were too small and that I needed a larger standard GB sticker. Fortunately he let me drive off without a fine GB now UK [Post edited 22 May 2023 16:34]

My Spanish experience was getting a speeding ticket from the police in Barcelona after we got home. And I definitely wasn’t speeding. What they look for are hire cars and in Barcelona try to fine people for not putting their lights on when going through the many tunnels - mandatory over there regardless of size of tunnel.. So it was lights on all the was and they did me for speeding instead. They charged the fine to the hire company who charged it back to the credit card. We could do absolutely nothing about it. Thieving &£#@ards.
