England U20s 1-0 up in World Cup opener v Tunisia 20:12 - May 22 with 1772 viewsitfcjoe

Dane Scarlett on the scoresheet, wouldn't be surprised if he is one we go in for this summer:

"One of the only players they have that doesn't have Championship experience is one of the best young strikers in world football, in my opinion, in Dane Scarlett.

Haven't we only got something like 16 players, three of them goalkeepers? Something about the tournament being held outside of agreed international windows, meaning clubs can veto a player's selection. Well done Spurs for letting him go in that case.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Scarlett was on the radar this summer. He was of interest in January, Mark Ashton confirmed that to me.

They picked players who were in EFL play offs who have gone out, or due to go out when their time ends - so Ronnie Edwards is playing, whereas Doyle and Norton-Cuffey are preparing for Wembley

Also had Carney Chukwuemeka in squad and Chelsea have pulled him after a couple of injuries - been a bit of a mess but hopefully get away with it

Ha - had missed that.

I think with TJJs injuries he may be seen as too big a risk - so we look at someone else to be the 3rd choice 9 who can fit in elsewhere behind striker and he could be a good choice.

Has looked sharp tonight, and did in both the game at PR this season

I thought TJJ was out of contract this summer but turns out he has another year? I think I'd agree with you unless Arsenal agree to let him go for a very nominal fee (with a sell on perhaps). It sounds like he's going to be having conversations with them soon and is keen to find a permanent home.

I think the positive re TJJ is his versatility. Certainly in his Arsenal career they've played him in the CF role, No.10 and both wings and from all accounts while his preferred position is CF he was good in all 4 positions.

You may well be right on that. The scope to add to the squad isn't huge so there can't really be too much room for risk when it comes to bringing people in.
