Yes. Someone advised a little while back that the pitch actually sloped a bit but also there's a lot of kit under that pitch It had to be lifted. |  |

Currently slopes down from west to east, so will be lifted on the east side accordingly.

The plans show a 300mm drop from pitch level to the perimeter wall on the Cobbold side, I suspect there was at least a 100m drop before so it has likely been raised approx 200mm on that side. I don't think there's any change in the level on the magnus side. | | | |

It was noticeable from block J around 2000. Maybe they did a temp job on it since then so it wasn’t as obvious. |  | | |

You’d think so but sounds like it wasn’t to the other poster. Just remember my mate having a ST there in the early noughties and he pointed out the mound in the box once when I was talking to him at HT.

No idea mate, you’re probably right. Perhaps I misunderstood you as all I meant originally was that the slope was noticeable to the naked eye at one point, without meaning to get involved in the detail of it.
Having re-read some of the thread, I think there was just a typo in one of Muncher’s posts and a missed ‘m’ which is where that bit started.
Anyway, wondering how far the pitch has been shifted across towards the Cobbold as I’ll be more or less central after that. [Post edited 17 Jun 2023 14:51]

I see it says it takes one machine 10 days to do a whole pitch, we’ve got two on the go it seems! Need it done. |
And how long does the real grass take to grow that’s down in between the plastic grass, a month? Plus it’s got to harden off ( be strong enough) to take a football match being played on it . You can see why we’ve asked for first game ( or is it 2?) to be away from home…. Gonna be a close run thing I reckon .. |  |

You'll get growth within a week. About 2 weeks and you'll be able to give it a first cut.then you'll start cutting different directions to thicken the blades. Cut 2 3 times a week etc. Fertiliser programmes lighting etc etc. | |
