Plays centre midfield, where it's likely we're going to want at least one additional player. Him being versatile is a plus.
Probably be more pressing areas but can't imagine we'll go into the season wanting to rely on Luongo and Morsy for the whole thing. Can't see Evans or Ball doing much this season. |  |

I'd have thought Ball would be ok. Evans' main problem is injuries, not capability. Plus there's Camara and Humphreys, maybe even El Mizouni on top.
Unless we're planning to get rid of most of those (sell or loan out), then we're fairly well stocked at CM.
Not convinced we're going to be spending significant money on an area where we already have players of a similar age and level. | |

Morsy is about the only one I'd say is safe. Evans is 50/50 with his injuries, but can see him staying around. Humphreys will get a loan in League 1/2 for the year (like Baggott this season). Camara I can see being loaned out, and El Mizouni sold. Luongo to be a squad player (probably similar ilk to Keogh this season) and Ball another squad player. | |

He would be a fantastic signing. He had had 3 years at Championship level by the time he was about 21, looked class under Rooney. I was amazed he stayed with them when they went down, thought both parties would've made a move happen as he'll certainly fetch a few quid. Excellent player. | | | |

After the Bristol City interest was announced I was having a discussion with a Derby fan who was adamant Knight was worth 3-5m. I pointed out that that was never going to be the case because nobody will pay that for a L1 midfielder with a year left on his contract. Especially when Downes (who had less championship experience but was on a longer deal) cost £1.5m.
I think £2m would get the deal done. |  |
