So I’ve lost my passport (it is somewhere in my house I’m sure) but I’m meant to be booking a holiday today and don’t want to hold up the party… anyone know a way I can book a flight without my passport number?

I've just renewed mine. Sent the application last Friday, its been printed this morning, expect to get it by Monday.

Dunno if that helps?

Pretty sure you can book it, just make sure it's in the name your passport (or replacement passport) will show.

I don't think you need to input passport number until online check-in (API - Advance Passenger Information).

That’s what I thought, cheers for that. Fingers crossed I find it!

Have you ever taken a photo of your passport to use for an online ID request?
If you have you might have all the info you need stashed away on your laptop somewhere.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Scratch that. Just been delivered so, less than a week to renew.

Don't think you'll need it until you check into your flights.

Fuming though, a lost passport is such a ball ache - hope you find it.

Good advice, and I always have physical photocopies of the information pages of my passport about my person when I walk around in foreign parts. Protection against having my passport lifted or taken by force but I have a document that will serve as legal identification by authorities if stopped and requested.

Could your passport number be 64519872?

I don’t know, but with all of TWTD, I am sure we could come up with some other guesses.

Confirming this. Some airlines do ask for passport information, but they have no way of checking if it is accurate.

You can put any old nonsense in to book the flight and change it before check-in which is when it is passed over to the relevant country.

Wow, that's quick for this time of year.

I renewed mine last April (2022) and took about 3 or 4 weeks as I recall.

Ha ha! Password photos are always terrible. I hate that you can't smile so you look like a miserable tw@t on your passport.
