Baggott's looked very comfortable at this level, which is nice to see.


It makes me wonder whether we might not keep him rather than loan him out. He also looked fairly comfortable on Tuesday, when Edmundson did not. He also has height on his side.

He certainly strikes me as one for the future in a McKenna-style side.

On that showing, absolutely. I don't think he put a foot wrong in 60 minutes, and he wasn't shying away from trying things or getting rid quickly. That was excellent from the kid. The little drag back and skinning of the Leipzig player at left back would probably have got him a ticking off in a league game, but he seemed to make good decisions right through.

Absolutely beasted them in the air a few times too. Superb.

I honestly think we are now going to keep hold of Baggott rather than him go out on loan if only to fill the clubs international shirt sales quota to Indonesia. Get those shirt numbers out and "Baggott 35" shirts will be flying off the shelves!

I thought that in the 1st half when their number 8 out muscled Harness (I think) and drove forward, stuck a little through ball through that Hladky smothered. Then remembered it's Amadou Haidara who has been linked with Liverpool, Newcastle, Man United and Brighton and probably worth £30m+.

Or when Jackson wasn't getting much change off Gvardiol who has a World Cup bronze medal and is undoubtedly one of the best young defenders in the world.

Only a friendly of course and can't get too carried away, but this squad knows what its doing.
