I wonder if there will come a time when they’ve sold too many. Like when Southampton would be raided and lose 3 or 4 of their best players every window yet seemingly be fine without them.

I don't think so, because they've been able to hold on much better.
Think their biggest problem is players are leaving them and doing that well elsewhere, so maybe that can become a warning sign that maybe they have such a good environment/setup that when you pull players out of them they are not as good as they look

Intrigued to know how Chelsea get around ffp. They’ve signed players for 160million in the last few days alone. I didn’t think it would be possible to hate them more than when they were owned by Abramovich but here we are.
It's a fiddle isn't it , but surely they will stand to lose millions when they are lumbered with a massive squad of overpaid players on long contracts .
I hate the whole way the Premiership is going , stupid money being paid and the Saudi business is driving me further away from following football at the top level .
According to saturday's fixtures there are just 3 premier games with kick off at 3 o'clock , TV is ruining football too .

If they get relegated at some point, and historically Chelsea are not beyond that, they will be utterly wrecked. The new owner is playing with fire and in my view totally unhinged.
Manchester City already has all the best players anyway.

There would have been four if Luton’s game hadn’t have been postponed.
I don’t actually mind football being spread over from Friday to Sunday.

That striker they signed from Watford this Summer will be next - I’ve watched a decent amount of him and he’s brilliant
They reckon Evan Ferguson's someone they'll be able to sell for mega money before too long as well. They're very excited about him and believe he can become a top PL-level striker.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

He'll go for £80m+ next summer ... and yet some people thought he wasn't good enough for us in January.

Yes there’s not too many who have left them recently and gone on to perform well. I think only Trossard and Burn could be considered relatively successful and even then I’d say the jury is still out on Trossard. Ben White has been ok but not sure he’s justified the fee.
Think it’s a case of being a very well oiled machine but if you take a cog out and place it somewhere else it just doesn’t work as well. Probably will not be too dissimilar to our squad this year.

Seems to be the way of things, and has been particularly prevalent this summer, that anyone we're reported to be interested in and subsequently don't get is denounced as crap and someone we don't need anyway. Happened with Simms and again with Rak-Sakyi when the links about him going to Leicester surfaced.
As per your comment in another thread, think people get a bit carried away by positive results and assume we'll get better by standing still.
