If you were to smack a shot from 60 yards and it hits both posts, it's not a great chance in my mind, just a very good strike. Same with the lob, very good strike, not a brilliant chance. That's the difference for me. I guess we're just judging it by two different metrics

And I know that he didn't hit it from 60 yards out but you said:

And I think it very much does matter how it came about. Going one on one with the keeper and hitting both posts versus say a strike from outside the area are very different chances in my mind. That's the point I'm trying to make.

When I said "I don't think it really matters how it came about" I was referring to that shot specifically, not all shots.
I'd forgotten about Luongo's chance, that was certainly a very good one and another I thought was in. You may be right, we may have different definitions of what "best chances" are. You're going more on positions, I'm going more on what actually happened. To be fair, the people who work out XG probably agree with you, but I tend to think a lot of that is nonsense. Some of the decisions on what is and isn't a "big chance", or whatever it's called, baffle me.
At the end of the day I'm delighted with the win but we certainly rode our luck to get it. | |

I thought so too at first, but the more I watch the replay the more I think I would have given the pen. Would like to see it from another angle to see if he did get his toe on it, which seemed to be what the ref was indicating. |

Another game I’m pleased to get out of the way early, might be a fun day out but a pretty rubbish ground to try and play at. As I said at halftime, Ainsworh had a fairly good game plan to keep our 10s quiet when we were in possession. We honestly weren’t great at times today and really should have conceded at least one, to win was fantastic. We’ll have easier away games than being the first home opponents at the SOL and Loftus Road.
Bring on Leeds.
