Birmingham City Council declares itself bankrupt on 14:49 - Sep 5 with 1456 views | OldFart71 | unfortunately it seems that most councils are profligate with people money. It isn't because they have too much to do with the money they receive it's partly due to the amount they pay senior council officials as with Ipswich, two over £250,000. As has been seen with other councils who have "Invested" tax payers money into hairbrained schemes and have then declared bankrupcy. But it doesn't seem to matter whether issues are dealt with locally or a Government level as they are no better. Not enough accountability I'm afraid. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Birmingham City Council declares itself bankrupt on 14:54 - Sep 5 with 1433 views | ChampionsofInnsbruck | Until you starting sending the politicians to prison for this level of destruction of public funds and resources, they will keep doing this. The politicians will get away with it, the public sector people signing it off will walk away free. The victims as ever, the people.

Dea god, you need look no further to see how easily the cap doffers are fooled. With this load of ludicrous old shte straight out of the Mail. Are employees at what ever level expected to be paid LESS because they are working for the local authority The so call 'money making ' sachems were encouraged by the Tory government to cover the shortages caused by their cutbacks. There is accountability, at both levels. Sadly there are the forelock luggers who have allowed this incompetence at the highest level to continue for over 13 years. The chickens are coming home to roost. Perhaps you would like to tell us about how it was the fault of our players that the pitch at PR was worn out, or a tree was growing on the roof. It was the players who appointed Hurst as manager.

Not sure where your 'info' comes from but the highest paid Exec @ Ipswich Borough Council earns about £130k. Not sure that anyone else there earns over £100k
