0-9 looks on again! (n/t) on 21:35 - Sep 15 by Churchman | They certainly look wide open to the counter attack. In fact they look a bit all over the place, despite having plenty of good players for this level. Crowd are drifting away. |
Brought on a sub they signed for £22M. Really are two Premier League squads but can see why Southampton especially got relegated.

Arguably, Soton had longer to be prepared for relegation as well seeing as they were doomed before Christmas. The appointment of Jones followed by keeping Selles on as interim for so long really cost them. [Post edited 15 Sep 2023 21:41]

Leicester have obviously looked much more of a team, but the chunk I’ve seen both have been quite careless in possession. The real difference to me is that when Saints lose the ball, it seems to be somebody else’s responsibility to win it back.

Good player as well so a little bonus for us he won't be available on Tuesday.

£22M player no less, looked quick but lacked any end product. Tough game Tuesday night, it either going to get even tougher as they react, or Russell Martin is already a busted flush....never rated him as a manager, delivered nothing at MK Dons or Swansea apart from possession stats. 0-9 looks on again! (n/t) on 20:48 - Sep 15 by gainsboroughblue | Southampton are literally inviting pressure. Can see how they've shipped 14 goals already. Edit. 15 [Post edited 15 Sep 2023 20:52]

He did it for the last 2 years with Swansea. It was driving everyone nuts down here. I think he got the same reaction for his mid-table L1 finish with MK Dons too.

0-9 looks on again! (n/t) on 21:09 - Sep 15 by NthQldITFC | To be fair, Leicester are doing a bloody good job of it, but some of that is down to Southampton being half-arsed in their press - they're committing the numbers, but it's not a joined up effort. |
That’s how we’ve got to approach them. Really get on the front foot with our high press, right up to the keeper. And lots of pressure in midfield to pick up the second balls when we force them to go long. His teams hate that and can’t deal with it. We’re bound to get chances if we follow our normal game plan. Not that it will be easy. They still have some ridiculously good players for this level, even if the coaching could be better.

Yes looked a yellow but who cares. Cheerio. I’m surprised just how disjointed they looked as a team. Plenty going forward, but oh my days, Leicester could have had a lot more goals had they been less wasteful. Vardy still looks good, especially for this level.

The phrase 'style over substance' could've been written specifically for him. Very much a 'if plan A doesn't work, do plan A better' manager - obviously Leicester were very good at making them pay for sloppiness and we'll have to be the same when we get chances. They've still got a lot of individual quality so don't want a repeat of the Leeds game.

I was hoping to see a clearer replay from a different angle because it hardly looked a foul and certainly not a red from the one they did show. However, the ref was right there and only the player dismissed seemed to have any great issue with it.
