Taking in some Jazz at the Green Mill is a must

The bean is pretty cool in real life

The glass box at the side of the Sears Tower is terrifying but brilliant

Great city, amazing pizza

I love the Green Mill. Legend has it that there's a particular booth in there that was the one Al Capone and his pals would sit at and drink. They favoured that one as it has a view of both the front and back door, so could scarper promptly when needing to. Certainly worth a trip there.

I would give a shout out to Wicker Park area, just generally. Been a while since I went but it's a cool part of the city IMO, some good bars and places to eat around there and a nice vibe.

Probably get decent enough weather at the moment for some time at the beach as well if that's your thing.

I enjoyed a river cruise there once, that was quite interesting if you're in to that. Gives you a good perspective of the 'corn cobs' and Trump towers etc. There's also a good river walk if you would prefer to do it by foot.

I would disagree on the pizza because the deep pies aren't to my taste. I went to what was supposedly the OG pizza pie place (Uno?) and the thing was honestly like 3 inches deep. Heart attack in a dish. Prefer a Naples style myself but each to their own. You will get a great Lobster roll there though.

Loads to do in Chicago, quality city.

Have a martini on the 96th floor of the Hancock Tower, the view is phenomenal and don't have to pay to get up there unlike the viewing deck.

Take one of the Chicago Architectural Center's downtown walking tour - go for the first skyscrapers and/or Art Deco one - it's a truly stunning city:

Late nigh drink in Millers Pub in the Loop, open til about 4am I think - my wife swears by the ribs

We did and would definitely recommend the Wendella Boats hour and a half architechture boat trip from Dusable bridge, good views, very well informed guide.

The Art Institute of Chicago is a bit obvious but really good, we are not experts but were there for 4 hours.

Pettorino's on N Dearborn St for drinks and Volare on E Grand Ave for dinner.

Enjoy.

Take some warm clothing, it changes quickly! I went there in early October. First day, walking lakeside, shirt sleeves. 3 days later I went to the football at Soldier Field. Coldest I've ever been at an event! Illinois Blue would be your man for tips, this being one of them! If you like record buying, The Dusty Groove was worth a train trip slightly out of City Center.

As a Bears fan, 13 straight losses and playing very poorly , but if u get the chance to take in a game and have never done so before , Broncos at home is a match up between 2 awful sides so you may just see a win.

Everyone raves about Roxie Hart’s performance but I think Amos steals the show.
