Colby Bishop on 16:00 - Nov 5 with 1700 views | Stu_boy | I'd imagine it'll be quite hard to tempt Pompy to part with their star striker given they will be desperate for promotion and wont want him to leave while they are top
Colby Bishop on 16:02 - Nov 5 with 1686 views | SheffordBlue | He's clearly a good player but I think we''ll be looking at someone who is regarded as 'Prem ready' and really can't see Pompey selling with the position they are in.

I really can’t see how we could afford any prem ready strikers, they will be on everyone’s radar if they are playing lower than championship and if they are higher we are talking a starting fee of £8m. Plus financial fair play don’t see how we can. I think Bishop isn’t a bad shout, clearly too good for league 1 and we have looked before, Pompey would do everything to keep him but I’m sure he would be tempted with a championship promotion campaign, probably depends on how long his contact is.

Yes. If look at last few players recruited they have prem experience and significant upgrades on what we already have.
Colby Bishop on 16:40 - Nov 5 with 1472 views | franz_tyson | Don't think we can prise Bishop of Pompey, but wonder if it would be better to go down the route of a younger lower league player who'd be back up to Hirst. Rather than the over-priced type like Simms from a PL club. Looking back, Ahadme was a bit silly and panicky, but surely there are young lower league strikers out there who could make the step up and be within our budget. Or maybe Scarlett will build on yesterday's cameo and we won't need to bring in another striker. I like what Hirst brings to the team - just wish he could add a few more goals.

I think this is right. Prem loanees are the primary option for us I’d have thought. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
