A few WBA points… 13:34 - Nov 26 with 2527 viewsSitfcB

They were good, well drilled and solid. Took the lead and were happy to let us try and play whilst time wasting and producing unpunished niggly fouls.

Their performance was like one of our complete away performances from last season, a goal in each half, solid at the back and not troubled.

It was probably our toughest test of the season bar Southampton. A very good Championship side with very good Championship players.

Annoying to concede so early again, really needs to be sorted out.

Surprised by how nice the Hawthorns is, not sure why some were calling it a shît hole beforehand.

Any hot food item and any cold/hot drink for £6, good deal.

The walk the away fans have to do after the game is ridiculous.

The fans singing those dopey songs were embarrassing and disrespectful.

Just the third time I’ve seen us lose live in just under a year (Wycombe, Leeds the others) find that mental.

Disappointing the goalscoring run ended.

Officially old as the boys singing in the pub beforehand was annoying they were the only ones doing it, about 8 of them.

Hate losing. As usual takes a day or so to get over it but always look forward to the next game, bring on Millwall.

Do they still open the gates and let smokers out for a quick one at half time?

You definitely have to give West Brom credit. The game plan was spot on and that's the first time I have seen us have no genuine answer to the problems.

I dont think you can focus too much on individuals after that. Just have to accept the fact that on this very rare occasion, the opposition have done a job on us.

I still think a couple of additions in January might help with changing the game somewhat, but then our substitutions have had more impact than any other team in the league haven't they?

I'm sure we will bounce back mid week.

Yes, think they have to do that tbf due to the size of the concourse!

I thought their manager nailed it in the summing up on 13:50 - Nov 26 with 2359 viewsunstableblue

Ipswich are very good

You need every player to put in a strong performance - across the pitch their players outperformed their town equivalent.

Crucially when playing Ipswich you have to know they’ll keep playing their system and keep going so WBA could not switch and in turn had to play their game and system consistently for 90mins.

I think he sighted Brum, who came out of the blocks against us… but just weren’t consistent through the whole game.

WBA were very physically good as well - strong, quick and with stamina.

We basically caught their best performance of the season. And unlike the strong initial showing from saints, Town in Burns, Broadhead and Taylor didn’t have players fully firing to hurt WBA back

Lots to learn, and a key lesson, is every player has to turn at this level, or you will lose against the better sides.

I do think fans need to remember the first half against the Swans, where our system and enemy was irresistible.

Agree with most of that Sitters.

Our moan was that the lads sitting next to us weren’t interested in watching the game, just in trying to wind up the Baggies fans. Really annoying!

We have learnt from previous visits to the Hawthorns that it’s a nightmare getting out, hence the reason we travelled by train as it is a direct route back to the station.

Shame about the result but it was bound to happen at some stage.

Ah yes the lads with the party hats, annoying, I was directly in front of them, I did try and catch your eye a couple of times but to no avail

I wouldn’t want to walk down that slope if it were icy!

Sorry didn’t see you.

Felt sorry for the older man in front of the birthday boy next to us. He was getting smoke blown all over his head.

Luckily they quietened down after the second goal went in and then left early.

WBA were very impressive I thought and seemed up for it from the first whistle. We just didn’t get going and weren’t allowed to. Thankfully, with the Millwall game coming so quickly, it gives us the ideally opportunity to put that tepid performance to bed. It will be really important to see how we respond.

Certainly not one for posting on here but after reading some of the nonsense on here since game, I thought I’d share my experience from sitting in the Birmingham Rd home end due to being unable to get a ticket in away. Thanks to my nephew at uni in Birmingham with a local postcode.
Firstly always found WBA to be the most hospitable of the West Midlands teams and surprised that their small fanzone allowed away fans in to mingle with home with zero dramas.
From my eavesdropping of the locals during the game, they played and managed the game very well, possibly best performance of season coupled with us being below par. First half, I guess I had a better view of us attacking and we were getting in decent positions, just final balls, control, hold up play, decision making let us down. Burns had a decent chance but struck high and wide. Again ear wigging, fans around me fairly complimentary with stuff like well coached, better decisions and they could open us up, I don’t think the fans ever felt that comfortable when we had spells with ball knowing we’ve made comebacks before. Second half we certainly did not perform unfortunately. There was no, these lot are pants, how are they second, they viewed it as a very good win over a good team. They put in a professional performance to which we had little answers though both goals soft and avoidable. Watching games on tv never tells the full picture. Not concerned at all, WBA are a decent home outfit and will be interested to see how they get in with Leicester there next Saturday. A lesson on how to manage a game from them. Every confidence we’ll bounce back Wednesday.
