They're entitled to an opinion & some may be shrewd judges, but all the male pundits have either played and/or managed at the top level of male football. Obviously there aren't any females who have done that. TV are adding female pundits for PC reasons, rather than because they're well qualified to do the job.

Jill Scott not played at the highest level no?

Emma Hayes selected as new USA coach?

Sounds a decent level to me.

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

you're right. It is the same game, but that's like saying my Sunday park XI are playing the same game as Barcelona. Can't it be possible for someone to find women's football entertaining & be pleased it is growing without being unwilling to admit it is nowhere near the same standard as men's football?

Not that I've seen, and if they do yeh they are wrong and I disagree.

Barton is trying to make a point about women pundits being worse than men because they aren't as good at football. Which is demonstrably complete rubbish, but as ever with these delicate little dickheads anyone calling them out for talking and writing utter bobbins is "woke" or whatever.

Some of the women are sh1t pundits/commentators. It's not because they aren't as good at football as the blokes though. Shearer is a classic example of this point, and far from alone. A brilliant forward, yet about as insightful a pundit as a goalpost.

See also Dion Dublin, Clinton Morrison, Andy Hinchcliffe and numerous others. Come to think of it, has anyone heard any pearls of wisdom from the football genius that is Joey Barton?

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

This is so unbelievably stupid. Especially coming from an Ipswich fan.

If playing footie at the top level was fundamental to being a top pundit then it would be even more true for becoming a top manager where you need even more insight and knowledge then a pundit. I give you Kieran McKenna who I would take over 99% of players who played at the top level unlike him!!! Many more cases (Mourinho etc).

So when it comes to being a pundit this playing at the top level requirement is nonsense. It's an advantage for them because they are known so the audience buy into what they are saying. I think some of the women have to work that bit hard to build their credibility but by and large have done this and there are some really good ones. Just like with the men pundits we'll all have opinions on the good ones and bad ones. That's fine.

Shocked to learn he has a new podcast launching on Monday it seems.

No doubt he’ll talk about how he’s been “cancelled” as he can’t get a job on TV.

Lay off Alan Shearer, please! While he is a useless pundit, his Auntie Carol cleans our place in Tenerife.

He probably feels that nothing is his fault and that he’s a victim of provocation.

The whole charade is clearly being planned out by whoever is behind the podcast. There’s no way Barton has the wherewithal to have constructed this all by himself.

I don't dislike him, and he's by far not the worst out there ;)

EDIT: not sure he can take any credit for his auntie's cleaning prowess though innit...
