KM on radio just said discussions with Spurs about him returning in Jan. Shame as I think he's a very talented lad. Started slowly but is really blossoming, think he could be a very decent player in a couple of years.

Someone who will be very decent in a couple of years isn't much use to us now. Unsurprisingly, Spurs will probably recall him as he's getting so little game time here. It's been clear that he isn't up to leading the line at Championship level yet, but as Spurs idiotically played him in the League Cup, he can't play for anyone else this season. They will probably reckon he's better off playing in their U21s, the FA Cup & some minutes from the 1st team bench with Son away than kicking his heels at Town. |  |

Started to show signs but we are not and shouldn’t be a breeding ground to develop other team’s youngsters.
Let’s put this one down to a lesson and one we hopefully won’t repeat.
We need players who can come in and make an impact. Scarlett has shown signs but he is not good enough right now to make the difference to take us to the premier league. |  | | |

I think as a player to come on from the bench he has been very useful this year, and he has been improving. If we were to stay would think he'd have got more time too, and he has defo contributed for me.
The idea that he has been a failure, something we shouldn't repeat - don't think that's fair at all. He is being recalled (not sent back) and that is because Spurs want to use him (as cover am sure) not because they are unhappy with his time here.
The lad has done well, I wish him well and think he will go on to be a better player for it too. Not sure why anyone would think negatively of his time here. | |

He’s done ok and would probably have contributed more in the 2nd half of the season but we need better. Someone ready to start games & who can make a real impact. |  | | |

Yeah, don't like a lot of the comments I've seen about him - lazy, waste of space etc. It was bad timing for him to come in, was cup-tied a couple of days before so he couldn't play in the League Cup, struggled to get into a side already playing well with players already established ahead of him. Shame all round it didn't work out but that's the way it goes sometimes - not convinced we'd have gone for him if we'd have got other choices first anyway.
In general the reality of the situation we're in means we'll always be looking at these types of loans - Omari's showing the upsides of this. |  |

Don't know what kind of impact you are hoping he would make from six or seven 10 minute spells so far. Think it's clear he was here as some cover and would be a useful addition later in the season. Shame if he goes back.
Lots of people saying we need someone who can start games and contribute from the off, but they are never going to get in ahead of Hirst. He is the perfect striker for how we play. [Post edited 23 Dec 2023 19:49]

But when it’s not working for Hirst, we need someone who can come on in that position and make a difference, as today proved. Also, we can’t expect Hirst to start every single game (and he might get injured at some point) so we do very much need someone else to play that role effectively. | | | |
