If Harry Clarke wasn't one of our own... on 23:02 - Dec 26 by andehpandeh | He was 100% responsible for the goal due to not tracking his man, but he more than made up for it the rest of the match |
Disagree as per my post above. This is where the nuance between zonal and man to man marking is. Clarke went into the centre to cover for Wolf who had to move over to cover for Burgess. Systemic failure yes, but then you could ask where was Burns?

If Harry Clarke wasn't one of our own... on 22:46 - Dec 26 by BondiBlue | Seems like we've got "it was burgess's fault" vs "it was hladky's fault" vs "it was clarke's fault" on this thread. All three could have done better therefore a thread solely blaming clarke is a little unfair (again). |
Agree, there are more than a few reasons.... But Clarke being out of position is definitely one of them.

Guy did our defence most of the game for strength and pace. Could be a torrid time for our back line.

If Harry Clarke wasn't one of our own... on 20:19 - Dec 26 by Swansea_Blue | He’ll get blamed for this, but it was Burgess stepping out and completely being done that lead to Woolf and Clarke having to move over. Burgess has to take the ball or at least the man there. |
Having had a chance to see this again, I agree. Sitting in the lower north I thought it was Clarke all day long. However from a better angle I see what you mean. So, entirely wrong on this one. Still think the right side is a bit defensively shaky but the goal wasn't really on Clarke.

If Harry Clarke wasn't one of our own... on 07:43 - Dec 27 with 608 views | textbackup | HAHAHAHAHHA another drip There were men in the middle, so if he pulls out wide they then get the ball and score… bloke can’t win. Maybe look at those who stepped out creating the gap he needed to fill inside? Or the our right mid that could have dropped back to help? The alternative is we play BW, a bloke that clearly has his off field issues and isn’t getting game time because of it

If Harry Clarke wasn't one of our own... on 22:43 - Dec 26 by WicklowBlue | I assume your "woeful" comment is restricted to their goal as Morsy won POTM. I thought he was immense as usual. |
He got better as the game went on yes, but the opening period which was when I posted my post, he wasn't tracking the 25 time and time again and imo that's more to blame than Clarke with this one. BUT it's a collective as I said too as 3/4 town players all involved in it, but everyones quick to blame clarke, when captain Morsy is excused.

QPR fans have lost all patience with Dykes up front but very few believe Armstrong's the answer to their problems: "Well we see alot less of him than these 5 Managers have and I can tell you he has poor ball control, can't hold the ball up, has limited ball skills to beat a man (other than pushing the ball past him and trying to out-run him like U12's football) has poor positional awareness and is almost always off-side." The above post has only been agreed with so far (as much as we remember him for giving us a torrid time).
