What has logic got to do with it?

Liverpool recalled a left back from a loan to a Scottish club. They can’t play him today as he picked up 2 yellows in Scottish cup games.

Nick Pope found that out last year when dismissed against Liverpool in the PL and missed the League Cup final.

If the situation was reversed and player was dismissed in an FA Cup match this weekend (Harry Pell), he would miss AFC Wimbledon's next match instead of a First Round tie next season. In the situation of a three match ban their FA Cup suspension could potentially last for years instead of immediately.
