We don't have many games in the next four weeks – if we could do a deal next week and bring him up to speed from there then I would absolutely take that, I cannot see a more suitable Hirst alternative even vaguely within range.

His profile is right, just think it just depends on how quickly we'll be able to get him up to speed. Its such a tough role, the physical output required is so intense that it'll presumably take a few weeks until his threatening to start games given a 4 month lay off.

As you say, I guess the intensity of our schedule isn't what it was in December though, especially with the FA cup break.

It took a while to get Luongo going last season - how much had he played before we took him on? (No idea of the relatively severity of Mass's injury versus that of Gallagher). Trust the manager / team...

If he does come, no doubt KMaK will feed him into the team gradually, as he did Hirst. He is not going to be able to go for 80 minutes right now, but if he can bury himself for 60 minutes in the first few weeks then happy days - he will get there.

But I also wonder how much of the GH injury was down to him taking the full load for the first half of the season, and there not being an adequate replacement to share that load. Given Gallagher's recent injury record, you would definitely want another incoming striker to stop Gallagher breaking down as well.

Nothing in Rajovic, incidentally.

I just had a chat with a scout friend of mine and I asked who he would recommend signing if he were working for Town and he was similarly stumped for obvious options.

Understand January isn’t ideal, but just highlights the need to expand our scouting network beyond the UK.

Rajovic was a rumour circulating 2 or 3 weeks ago. I looked at the Watford forum to see if it was mentioned there and all I found was a thread about his poor ball control and whether he was worth keeping. The majority decided he might be because he knew where the net was.

K Edward’s was another rumour at the time but there doesn’t seem to be anything in that either now.

Nick Ma Shlter???

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
Poll: With Evans taking 65% in Huddersfield, is the Banter Era over?

Was listening to the On The Continent podcast the other day and they suggested that the Scandinavian leagues were worth looking at in the January window. It's their off-season, so their transfer mindset is more like the Summer, where they're open to squad re-structuring and selling players to fund their own deals.
