There's been some names popping about but for me, there's only 3 strikers that probably fit within budget that I'd be happy with if we got them.

Sam Gallagher - though my big concern is he's just returned from a long injury on Saturday
Will Keane - who would be my first choice
Kieffer Moore - hasn't played much football the last 6 months

All 3 fit the profile for the striker role. All 3 can do the same job as Hirst, maybe better.

Poll: If selling Jackson meant getting in a wide man, would you be happy with Garbutt?

Alexandre Mendy turned down the chance to play in the African Cup of Nations, is all I am saying.

Two or more Prem teams exiting the FA Cup this week. That May free up some young squad players for loans.

Gallagher and an overseas find from Holland, France or Portugal, I hear we have better scouts now...

I’d still consider Langstaff in conjunction with a more marquee signing

Have you heard about Mendy, too?

Having completed some analysis I would suggest Gallagher is the best fit and even a possible upgrade on Hirst.
He has a great presence in the air, can hold the ball up well, distributes from his target man position and also has the knack of knowing where the goal is. Not the most prolific of goal scorers but his input to goals is tremendous.

Surprised there’s not been more mention of Ryan Hardie at Plymouth, either in connection with us or one of the myriad other clubs who need a striker. Glad he wasn’t playing for Sunderland on Saturday!

I've heard the name Josh Coburn from Middlesbrough. Does anyone know if there's anything in that?

Would definitely take him, fits the Hirst mould to a tee. Doubt we'd be able to prize him away from Boro though.

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

Would enable a nice (if perhaps overly aggressive) Pioneers/Specials-based chant of "Langstaff - kick de f**ker!"

Played most of their semi final against Chelsea, didn’t he?

Just looked on Twitter - Sam Gallagher being linked strongly by many sources. Thinking Travis being here would help with any deal. anyone else we can raid while we're there - must be a 3 for 2 offer

Stick Elkan Baggott up front from the bench. 6’5”, Good feet, good in the air and he’ll be back in a couple of weeks.
I saw him warming up with the squad at Stoke before he flew out. He’s a big unit.
