Town Women to play at Portman Road 15:11 - Feb 19 with 10086 viewsJammyDodgerrr

Saturday 23 March, 3PM. Let's fill it up for a historic day. I imagine it's going to be super cheap and a great day to witness and encourage the team.

So how do you know your opinion is more valid?

I think we can all take a pretty good guess at what your opinion is from your response to the OP, but if you want to surprise us by letting us know how you really reel then go for it

Perhaps you could have done that originally?

It’s fashionable to like womens football and sexist if you don’t.

There's a reason for everyone's behaviour. When someone responds negatively to something so positive, you got to ask why.. so dont shoot the messenger as its not our fault bloots is so challenged by women playing at Portman Road he's all over this thread like thrush.

I read the op and thought, good for them and good for ITFC. Sorry you both felt the need to punch down.

Nope. No-one cares if you like it or not but those who don't like it seem to feel the need to tell everyone they don't whenever given the chance and it's tedious.

An alternative might be to fill up the attendances at plenty of other local football clubs that could do with the boost that a bumper attendance would give them.

Usually super cheap, and a great day to witness and encourage local non-league football teams...

...we should all go to PR for the women's match, I said "no thanks".

That was the subject being discussed and that was my opinion on it.

If the subject was women's football in general then I may (or may not) have commented on that as well, but it wasn't, so I didn't.

If you want to start a thread about the wider positives and negatives of women's football then feel free to do so. I'm not going take this thread off subject though.

Cheers.

What a ridiculous culture wars-esque view point

How anyone can't see this as a positive step is beyond me. And feeling the need to be so clearly opposed is baffling

I'm sure there are loads of people who don't like watching women's football that have managed to get past this thread without commenting any negativity. Notice how they're not being accused of being sexist?

That is ridiculous!

Who on earth actually thinks that?
If you don't like women's footy fair enough.
I can't say that I follow our team other than casting my eye over the odd match report that Phil posts.
I don't tend to watch the WSL show on TV, but I thoroughly enjoyed the Euros and WC.
Now I'm questioning if I'm part sexist too!

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

...whatever they choose.

If people say they are going to go then that's fine by me and I won't comment on them negatively for doing so.

Surely its an individual choice?

If you really want me to go, then I'll go!

So hypothetically, if this was the ipswich town disability team playing their first match at PR and someone said we should go along and support, would you have commented 'No thanks' if you had no intention of going?

....so I haven't been able to form an opinion as to whether I'd go or not.

So my response to that hypothetical post would probably be:

"I haven't ever watched disability football, so I might go and watch that, I may enjoy it"

That Ok with you?

Yeah, that's much better. Why you can't have done similar here is beyond me

How about "I've watched women's football before and didnt really enjoy it, so may give it a miss"

The response to the disability team got more than a 'maybe' so why the women deserve less I'll never know
